Interpretation by Marc Anthony is so much better as singing, as brings to feel of music and as passion. And of course MJ`s version is much more soft, tender and sensitive. I cant see something special in this version.

The song has been covered by a variety of artists besides MJ & Josh Groban...Patti LaBelle, Ginuwine, 98 Degrees, Jon Lee, Barbara Mandrell and Willie Nelson just to name a few. And uforeader is correct, Quincy Jones was originally holding it for Frank Sinatra and decided to give it to Michael instead.

I'm sorry to say but Josh is a great great singer and I love his originals...but he can't hold a candle to the master of gut-wrenching emotion that was Michael Jackson. REAL emotion leaves you unable to control it's whims and where it takes you...Michael expressed it perfectly...with soul. Josh is just too operatic. Wrong tune for him. Nice tribute though. I think he definitely feels this song - more now than when he recorded it for "Closer." Remember he and his girlfriend broke up just before "Awake" - he talked about the difficulty of maintaining a relationship with his schedule. "I've learned love won't wait" probably has a completely different meaning to him now. And I think 2 years was about how long he was with that girlfriend.

Artists have great repsect for each other and I'm sure MJ is flattered that Josh chose this song to include on his album.

It's a big hit in the Phillipines and Josh's interpretation and passion make it soooo touching. Great to hear it live.

It's nice that Michael's fans are so loyal, and to you it will always be his song, just as some of Josh's songs will only be his. But that doesn't mean that other artists won't sing them in their own style and do them justice.
