It's hard to see how much damage those outside knees do, but at the last moment you can see the other guy's face tense in pain. The old guy wasn't going too easy on him, :P.
Lol I dance down the line of my students or when there's "free time" etc, and strike at random (not muay thai), to see if they're paying attention and judge their reaction. It's VERY helpful for their training, and since I started I've noticed amazing results.
@D34DLY5NIP3R LMAO calm down dude dont try and act tough on the net you know you wouldnt do that hahaha! you would just eat some knees :) dont get angry im just telling the truth
@JustLookin4TheTruth if you know the truth why is your user name just looking for the truth? the simple fact is your a dick and your dont deserve to live
a little question: If in the MMA clinch (or muay thai clinch) , groin strikin was allowed, would groinkicking be easy to do? would it be something you would try to use while clinching in the street 4 example, or would it be a gift for the opponent that could try to grapple your leg and throw you?
@doctorsizzle most westerners are far better coaches than orientals due to communication problems and adhering to traditional way without evidence. There are western coaches with just as much experience as thais, tom hanrick and jan plas in holland have been coaching thai since the 1970s and their students beat many thais and dominated the heavier weights for 20 years.
He never said to lock your fingers. He is just making the distinction as to why you would clinch/"grab him" versus just trying to knee someone freestanding.. I should know because I trained with him.
I believe that his intention here was to tie up the opponent and then throw in the knees from the side with opponent tied up. He has shown us in the past how to control your opponent in the clinch.

VERY GOOD EXPLANATION OF WHAT TO DO IF YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO ENTER AND PUMMEL TO COLLAR TIE UP ..
~~GRECO ROMAN WRESLITING CONCEPT~~THE THAI MOTIF IS TO PULL & PUSH SIMALAR TO NECK POPING AND JERKING THEN APPLY A KNEE.
LOOKS SIMPEL BUT THERE ARE SO FEW WHO EVER DEVELOPE THE SKILL LEVER TO BE A KNEE TECHNICAN ..
EVERY ONE SHOULD ASK THERE HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING COACH TO TEACH THEM HOW TO DO PUMMELING DRILLS AND APPLY THEM FOR 30 MINUTS NON STOP!!
GRECO ROMAN IS THAI CLENCH .ACCEPT IT.

@billysue2 thanks for the reply.
great points...however...i'd like to point out i typed: AMERICAN.
jan plas is dutch, is tom hanrik American?
many westerners dominate heavier weights for there are not that many HEAVY thais. lol.
you look at the kicking with muay thai players and european and american camps. no comparison.
european and american fighters are very boxing based. seen k-1? any americans in the top 10?
american camps have a different take on fight sport.
doctorsizzle 1 year ago
@billysue2 but they all learned from thais.

i´ve always been told not to interlock your fingers
johnmatsson 2 years ago
Since you'd be wearing gloves, how would that be possible?
Blahb27 2 years ago 3
That exactly the point, you can´t interlock your fingers with gloves on and therefor you should learn to clinch without doing it.
johnmatsson 2 years ago
his hand placement in the clinch doesn't lend itself well to controlling the opponent, just ties him up.
