my name is john walker but everybody calls me johnnie because of this brand. hey it could be worse; they could call me captain morgan or jack daniels lol
@NSmithmier I've heard the sayin 'smart enough to be lucky before. I think it goes on the sentiment that you make your own luck in this world. Or so I think. I could be wrong on that one, but it does ring familiar...
Just got the black label today. I hadn't tried it before since it's not a common whisky here (even had to specially import it since the only company which is allowed to sell alcohol in Sweden didn't keep it in stock). It blew me away. A new favourite for me! Even my friend who only likes the really smokey single malt whiskys like Ardbeg and the like absolutely loved it. It's great! :) Definatley going to buy another bottle somewhere down the line.
Robert's great. Love his part in stargate universe. But in this ad he is quite difficult to understand due to the accent. Any chance to create english subs? :)
@gsmaciel I'm not much of a drinker either, but that's not what whisky is all about. You sit down after dinner and have a couple of centiliters of it. You don't fill your glass to the brim. At least that's not the way I've been taught to drink it.
@damillionmalania I'm just joking, actually. This is a famous line from Robert Carlyle's character (Begbie) in the movie Trainspotting, referring to heroin :)
Diageo who own Johnnie Walker are abandoning the home town of Kilmarnock - where Walkers have been since 1820...Big Corporate money grabbers have no sense of history...
hey guys be careful about Johnnie Walker, coz there is a Jiayani Walkshing a chinese version of Johnnie walker , the bottle is also square with invert whiskeys brand at first it looks like the original brand , but when u see the price its dangerous coz its cheap , its a black label also, but when u taste it taste like whiskey blended with Ginseng along chinese root grass it tastes likes rotten noodles. it doesn't walk it will guide u to the bathroom
Brilliant Ad . . . I saw it at the cinema before a movie and was the only idiot left clapping hands after it finished. I felt like skipping the movie and going out to buy a bottle there and then. Pitty my girlfriend had a different trail of thought regarding my acquisition, especially because all bottle stores were closed by then. . .#KeepWalking
EVER NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE between WHISKEY and BEER commercials???
Beer commercials portray wussy, insecure, spineless, childish, immature, pansy ass, pussy wipes, whimpy excuse for a man idiots. Whiskey commercials, mostly different story.
@bigeast2 : definitely a feat in itself....yea i went in LA on wednesday night, very informative event....i mean free booze, is there any better kind?
@bigeast2 : what i mean is, this was the first time out, they only had to do one take rather than keep going back....or so i heard at one of their tasting events
they did it in one take i am studying as part of my marketing module and my professor mentioned the benefits of using a professional actor included in this case robert doing it in one take
Well, Robert Carlyle was completely awesome in this. Even Shakespeare doesn't have any 5 minute monologues where you have to walk in time with the music and interact with various props down a dirt road.

In filming terms, this is called a "long take". It's where the camera rolls uninterrupted, in this case for 6 minutes, and there are no cuts made.
Excellent acting performance by the way.
