  • It's ironic that this episode when it aired was dealing with nostalgia from a different day; I'm experiencing the nostalgia of this television series from my early childhood.

  • My Grandpa has the same hat!

  • Wow!~ A moonlite night running a steam locomotive train, pure poetry.

  • @ 5:36 The diesel locomotive is SBD 6802 (former L&N 3005), a GP-40, built by EMD, Serial #32448, Nov 1966. (CSXT 6802, HATX 418) (trainweb.org)

  • great video,my grandfather was the best man i ever knew and i miss him everyday

  • @billijean85 Is Billy Byrd your grandfather? this was one of my favorite on the road segments. You can tell that Mr. Byrd is or was a good and honest man. I loved the way that Charles Kuralt showcased the good hard working honest people of america and showed the world what a truely great people we americans are. thank you charles and a special thank you to billy byrd
