Why Classic is better by far:

He doesn't need a boost or homing attack to do a job well done.Plus Modern era almost ended with the Sonic franchise while Classic ALWAYS make reach the stars...no pun intended.

also classic sonic didnt really have a thick sense of momentum :( sure it may have been more challenging at some points, but when you really start barreling ass in a newer sonic game, you almost feel it and it puts you on the edge of your seat. this is what makes modern, in my opinion, more satisfying to play

Both Sonic's have their flaws, but honestly everyone need's to focus on Modern Sonic, B/C I got a feeling we aren't going to see Classic Sonic for a while, considering Sonic Generations is out. TIME TO MOVE ON ^_^

@SHADOWtehULTIMATE O'k listen, Sonic Generations is over and I believe that SEGA won't plan on bringing Classic Sonic back any time soon. After all Sonic Generations is 20th anniversary game, so they bring Classic back just for that game. Why else do you think Modern Sonic is in Sonic 4 and not Classic? SEGA learned they need to move on and not rely on the Classic's anymore to please fans.

Modern Sonic, though Classic Sonic isn't bad and Sonic Generations definitely improved his speed and control alot.Classic Sonic is faster than before, the camera now shifts to different positions now, his spindash has a much larger speed increase compared to running than before and is easier to use now requireing only the push of one single button, and his momentum is definitely alot easier to control than before.

I prefer Classic. I spent half the game in a severe nostalgia trip as I played through the Classic 2-D platforming goodness, but while I was playing through the Modern Stages I was greeted with 3-D/2.5-D bullshit. XD

I say classic because video games and video game characters were better in the 90's. A few exampiles: Turok, Doom, Sonic, Duke Nukem, Toejam & Earl, Mario, 007: Goldeneye, and Wolfenstine, all of wich were remade or had sequils in the 2000's, and for all of them the remakes were good (with the exeption of Duke Nukem and Sonic the Hedgehog), but not as good as the origionals.
