  • The first one you put in the cage was checking itself out in the mirror!

  • Btw that cage is so cool! It looks massive compared to mine!!

  • LOL at the bit when they're just stood there staring because they're scared. Aren't you supposed to leave them to settle in for atleast a day without touching them or invading their space? I'm not having a go, it's just that's what I had to do with my rats.. or did you get them from a breeder? I got mine from a pet shop and they were only 10 weeks old!

  • I love this cage though since I live in an apartment without a hose it is a pain in the butt to clean. How long does it take you because for me it takes two bloody hours.

  • they look kinda scared?

  • You can better put fleece or cartboard on the levels, because of the holes in it they can get bumblefeet.

But the rats are very cute! Lovely (:

I know this is an old video, but maybe you still have the cage.

  • I want rats, they're so cute! ^^

  • You should not buy that cage, the bars are not good for their paws, it hurts them ;)

  • is it better to get the fist male rat fix before i get my male a playymate

  • If only my mum would let me get rats :(

  • you really need some type of covering over those shelves .... your rats could get bumble foot

  • i could use that cage for my iguana

    XD

  • this is the cage I want to get my two males :D is it nice? and I was wondering if I put hammocks and stuff in the cage do you think I would have to put fabric on the wire? Because I plan to put HEAPS of toys in there with them :)

  • why arn't you speaking? :/

  • cool maddie emma and what?

  • @TheRatUniverse LIZZY rad the description

  • aww so cute watching them walk around exploring their new house

  • You gave them one heck of a cage, All the other rats at school will be so jealous(:

  • where did u get that cage

  • What kind of litter box is that? I think it's awesome that it locks on.

  • @Theratchannel161 Males have a gland that makes them smell and makes their fur more oily. i have two males (Don Pablo and Reuse) that after they were fixed they didnt smell anymore.

  • hamstercare, Rats don't smell if you keep the cage clean. Yes, males to mark, but they don't smell horrible. Also, adorable girls! (:

  • responding to the comment below.. Rats smell horrible. Male rats espically because they mark there territoy

  • waw nice cage

  • Cute rats but the platforms are wire you should put cloth on them so they don't get bumble foot

  • they are all thinking " what are you lookin at?"

  • nice cage cutestuff XD

  • Don't you love how they lay in the toilet!??? LOL! Mine do that too. Makes me laugh LOL! and then cry for spending that money on a rat toilet that they just lay in!!

  • SO SO SO SO JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The cage you're using is causing misshapen feet.

  • 'Hey guys, are you taking a nap? yeah?' rats: 'no, we're so petrified of you that we can hardly move!'

  • 'Hey guys, are you taking a nap? yeah?' rats: 'no, we're so petrified of you that we're going to have some group solidarity here in our litter tray'

  • @1:12 haha aw, they're all scared x3

  • is it a good idea to make a rat a shoe box home thing

  • I really want 2 rats as i've heard their great pets but my dad just thinks their vermen D;

  • I'm sorry but it has Bumble-foot written all over it!!!

  • @TheawsomeAJ Bumble foot is caused by nasty pee-soaked solid levels. Wire is actually better than solid floors :)

  • aww rats are so cute.

but my mom doesn't like them. so i'll have some when i move in an own apartment in 6 years (i know, long time, but i can wait :D)

  • what kind of cage is that! it's so awesome!

  • @cc2u4u Martin's Rat Tower :)

  • @cutestuff2k its really nice. :)

  • @cutestuff2k i'll be looking up were to get that cage!! its cool!

  • @cutestuff2k This cage isn´t species-appropriate

  • @cc2u4u

it's not.walking on cage mesh the whole time is very bad for their feet. it hurts and the rats can get bumble feet. some more stuff to play with and rat houses would be nice too ^^ cute rats anyway

  • Wow, they'r shy.

  • @kidel3 They were back then because that was right after I got them :)

  • @cutestuff2k Oh, OK (:

  • thats a cool cage and heaps nice rats =].. the wire wont hurt the feet they are only light .. unless of course there hell sooky

  • @marniemooful Thank you =) The wire floors don't bother them since they have solid floors now.

  • @cutestuff2k you should try fleece liners too ^^ they're awesome!

  • ohh so good cage!!! luv it^^ +cute rats

  • are rats good pets?

  • rats are great pets

  • You might want to put like a towel on the cage floor so their feet won't get hurt :)

  • This was when I first got their cage. It has been modified since then. All the wire floors are now covered by solid surfaces.

  • how did u cover the wire floors lol

  • @kittiesincatnip One of the levels is covered by a ceramic tile. The others are covered by plywood with linoleum on top for easy cleaning. The only surfaces not covered are the ramps now.

  • @Greenroks94 Agreed. Where is the bedding?

  • It's at the bottom of the cage. I was just focusing on the upper level, where they were sitting.

  • Hey I would like to know the dimensions of your cage?

  • It's a Martin's Rat Tower cage. It is 3 feet tall, 2 feet wide, and 14 inches deep.

  • Aw, how sweet when all 3 sit there staring at you

  • Cool. I've got five little ones myself. Nice setup you've got for them too. :)

  • wire floors can give them bumble foot :(

  • That was when I first got the cage. I have since added covers for the wire floors made of linoleum and plywood. They love it!

  • Comment removed

  • Bumble foot is caused by filthy living conditions. It has nothing to do with wire floors; although, I'm sure it's not very comfortable on their little feet :P.

  • -.-' No, BumbleFoot is caused by Wirefloors and Dirty Habbits.

  • But not just wire floors. That's a myth.

  • No they can't. It's a myth.

  • O.O WOW! I love your cage! Can you meld two smaller ones (3 floors) together to make a big one?

  • What cage do you use?

I need a new cage for mine because mine is galvanized mesh and rat pee plus galvanived mesh equals disgusting smell!

  • get a spray bottle lemon extract and baking sob put 2 cups hot water in bottle add drops of lemon and about a tb spoon of baking soda for the wired part, for the rest fill a bath tub put generous amounts of the same ingredients and let it soak, take out rinse dry. or you might have you do a little scrubbing depending how bad it is if this is to much work buy any large ferret cage and remember to clean once a week atleast :P

  • your rats are cute. =)

  • Thank you! Yours are too =) I watched the video where they went outside. I wouldn't trust my rats to run around outdoors that way, even though I know they would love to go outside. Maybe someday.

  • They prefer to stick close to us and won't run away, so that makes it easier. =)

  • aww! ok, yes, even though rats are smarter (allot smarter) they are harder to train, but im sure once you have trained them, they will do great!! ;D

BTW, dont you have any videos of Sammy (or your other gerbs) doing some agility?? :S

  • Nope, my gerbils have never done agility. I don't know if they'd even want to learn.

  • wow!! this is amazing!!! i am getting 2 rats (maybe 3) soon!! how are they getting on?? you should try a/gility with them once they have well setteled in!! how old are they??

  • Aww cool! They're really sweet and love to be held and petted. I want to let them out for playtime today but need to find a rat-proof area first. They climb like little monkeys so I have to be more careful. I bet it would be a lot easier for me to train them instead of my gerbils since rats are really smart. They are 2 and a half months old :)
