@coolboysoldier1 - I also find it interesting to see how on one side of this we have JokerzKard who completely rejects "any one religion" and you who reject all but one religion. The UB falls right inbetween you two, philosophically. It rejects organized religion. But I know the UB says that it IS NOT a holy book--something you would know if you actually read the UB. So there is nothing to fear for fundamentalist Christian Bible worshippers. Thus, logically, why would Satan waste his time?

@JokerzKard - I agree. That's why it's a good thing the information in the Urantia Book is NOT a religion. It is one perspective of reality to those who can find meaning it what is says--doesn't matter whether is was written by humans or by celestial beings. The book speaks clearly against organized "religion." It promotes an anti-cult viewpoint, just like yours. I find it interesting that someone who seems to have such an aversion to religious ideas would even take time to comment at all.

Still, with all that in mind, I would suggest that there is also "not a shred of evidence" to discount the one true spiritual practice (if there is one): the leading of the Spark within to the soul; the personal, individual Quest for an expanded understanding of reality, and the desire to survive death. That an afterlife is not your concern, doesn't mean that there isn't one, nor that it can't found by choosing the most significant and true-ringing aspects and any of the world's religions.

What happened to the original urantia 'papers' and can they be examined?

@7Ethereal7 There were never a set of finalized "papers" separate from the published book. There WERE plates made for the First Printing, but they were destroyed (on purpose) shortly after, in 1955. The closest thing you can get is the First Printing. After that changes were made by the Urantia Foundation to subsequent printings (secretly, unfortunately). I believe that Uversa Press's version is the exact text of the First Priniting(?). All changes have supposedly made publicly available.
