Until recently, women were considered chattel in marriages, and were not considered equal partners in the relationship. Today, people marry for love and commitment.

If the husband dies, which one of the wives gets custody of the children, property, etc. It would make legal issues exponentially more complex. Also, the custom has been to ostracize the younger men, so the older men would have access to all the women (or usually teenage girls). Polygamy is not an equitable arrangement either socially or legally. That's why it's reasonable to ban it, but not same-sex marriage.

Until recently, women were considered chattel in marriages, and were not considered equal partners in the relationship. Today, people marry for love and commitment.

If straight people want it back, that's up to them. The only difference between opposite-sex marriage and same-sex marriage is the gender of the people. It has nothing to do with multiple partners, or animals, or computer characters. Bans on interracial marriage had nothing to do with those things either.

If the husband dies, which one of the wives gets custody of the children, property, etc. It would make legal issues exponentially more complex. Also, the custom has been to ostracize the younger men, so the older men would have access to all the women (or usually teenage girls). Polygamy is not an equitable arrangement either socially or legally. That's why it's reasonable to ban it, but not same-sex marriage.

Kwil, as I've taught you, there's no possible correlation between a person's sinful actions and innate components like homosexuality. The former can be chosen, the latter, cannot. No "great thinker" would disagree with this reality; if they tried to, they wouldn't BE great.
