great responses as ever from nigel and makes the other panelists look stupid in comparison...this can only help to get more votes for ukip and hasten our exit out of the EUSSR
Look how unefficient most of these politicians are, with the exception of Nigel of course.
Frankly, Nigel is right, the governmnet has lost its courage. And the true british people will start voting for the ukip and the far right nationalist parties.
Politicians are just a bunch of freeloaders on the tax payer who end up as millionaires on the back of broken promises. They're all cunts. We need a revolution, an overhaul of our democracy and our corrupt financial system.
Odd that a country with an established church should have trouble banning a foreign religious custom. Britain needs more like that chap who said to the Indians: "If it is your custom to burn widows on the pyre of their deceased husbands [i.e. suttee], then you should know that we also have a custom. Whenever a man throws a woman into flames, we have a hanging."
nice to see him getting a good reaction from the audience as well. Normally the bbc do their best to put him where they know ukip isnt popular. Great to see him looking well to :)

How are they oppertunists and how do they speak the obvious? In case you didn't know, they have no MPs and got hardly any votes across the board. They are a very unpopular party-mostly because idiots like your good self think that they're worse than the BNP!& clearly the whole point of the party's existence(out of the EU)is a very popular 'what people want to hear' thing to say... NAAAAT!Just a look at last election's results puts your oppertunist theory to the sword
for get it mate, just go and vote, and wait for deception. I have lived enough to believe anymore of this so called democracy, no party wants to help you, forget it. we are all on our own in this planet and neil cabbage head, whatever his name is, is also for his own interest. Voting is a joke.
Not only was he completely right every time, he got tremendous applause almost every time. Now come on Hartlepool, you clearly like this guy - so vote appropriately!
@walker1054 NO NIGEL WHAT IS DOING IS FOOLING THE AUDIENCE INTO BELIEVING THAT THE UKIP IS SOME KIND OF A SERIOUS ORGANIZATION, WHICH IS NOT. no one in politics, corrupt or not, labour or conservative, pro or against europe, knows that nigel is a joke, an opportunist joke, but hey the people in power liek to have a clown that state the obvious, just to calm the public, and of course to make people fight over stupid things, like a bloody burqa, who cares? the fact is social cuts are coming.
@walker1054 and of course to feed people with pointless xenophobe feelings, meanwhile britain is living on saudi money, lets all hate on the muslims but lets do it on that good saudi honey. i am tired to be treated by the bbc and the retarded political parties as if all in my mind is a woman with a burqa, not school fees, not the privatization of the nhs, not the pointless wars in the middle east, not the total destruction of main street, no, just bring UKIP to tell me the obvious.
@walker1054 unfortunately he is also deluded because he thinks different races and cultures and religions can coexist peacefully. With islam thats impossible for starters.
@DLPBurke: You're right, but only in case of radical islam. Unfortunately, most of the islam world is actually quite radical. Some Muslims may pretend that they really do immerse into our Western culture, but we all know it isn't true. Germany has been invaded by Turks for a few decades now and most of their communities do not adjust to the typical German lifestyle. Only Turks from the upper middle class tends to assimilate easily.
Im a big fan of Nigel (I am a member of UKIP) but I have to say this is one of the rare occasions when Nigel lost a debate. He was on good form at the start but got caught out towards the end. Of course those responces are cut out!!
@MrGilles1990 Well, he lost the ear of the audience when his later arguments got shut down effectively by his opponents. He also made a sweeping generalisation about Americans and rather embarrassingly an American stood up to object.
It's all well and good standing behind our party - but if we can't see our own (extremely small) failings then we creep into fanboyism...
We know that the Burkha is not a religious item per se. This only strengthens the argument for banning it, because it is not, therefore, an integral to their faith.
Wow, simmer down on crusade against my use of 'we'! I think it does strengthen the argument, because of the difference between culture and religion. Religion is a universal thing. Anyone can adopt any religion, anywhere relatively spontaneously. But a culture is a long-term result. A state can only have one culture, or it ends up being divided, not united. Aspects of other independant cultures brought into an already established culture creates division... cont.
...cont... It is one thing bringing curry recipes from the east to Britain for us to adopt the food into OUR culture and another thing allowing the Burkha in which creates division in our society by creating a NEW culture. Multiculturalism is a lie. Complete cultures cannot coexist under one society as the failed governments have tried to do. On the Burkha issue, it creates a whole cultural division because it has never been Britain's culture to wear them, as the weather is different... cont...
.... cont.... and the other environmental conditions eg. sand, (which is why Burkhas are useful) are dissimilar, rendering them pointless in Britain. IF Burkhas come into the country, they do not add anything to our already established culture, only create a clear symbol of division. So the Burkha is a direct contributor to cultural division and national disunity. Also, it is very hard to legislate against religion, but it is far easier against culture, esp. when it creates disunity like this.
...because culture can be questioned as it is more 'solid' and 'secularly measurable', so to say. It is easy to determine aspects of culture, because you can 'see' culture. But you can't 'see' belief unless you have it. You don't know what it is like to believe in a holy book unless you do, which, in today's society, makes it hard to challenge. Sorry if this doesn't seem to make much sense. IT's one of those ones where you understand it all in your head, but don't know how to write it!
Basically, I think it is easier to challenge culture than religion in this debate because we can prove easily that we do not have a culture for wearing Burkhas in this country, because we do not need them, and the acceptance of Burkhas creates a clear cultural division where, because we do not need them, Burkhas are not adding anything to our established culture and therefore create a cultural division where there are two cultures in society, which is divisive. So you're on to a winner
@GoldenbanjoDJ Religion should be given no special dispensation over culture... that is the whole problem. Now, I am not saying we shouldn't be tolerent - but tolerance only goes so far.
To me it seems only fair that if people want to live in this country they should respect this country's values and culture. I wouldn't dream of traveling to the middle east and demand that I be allowed to drink for example.
that's what I think. It is divisive to bring a culture in that cannot be adapted into British culture because it is not beneficial. Curry is amazing and many people like it. But what do we need Burkhas for? The sun does not beat down on us like it does in the middle east, and we do not have great sand storms etc. They are pointless here and the use only divides the culture, not broadens it.
Can you explain the difference between ''assimilation'' and ''integration''? What is the difference between an assimilated muslim and an integrated muslim?
@hypoguess Muslims do not integrate, they assimilate the host population. In other words we are to be Islamic, they will not be British or anything else.
I think you are all going to be surprised about this - but the burkha has absolutely nothing to do with religion. Somewhere along the lines of history someone assumed that the burkha has something to do with Islam simply because it is middle eastern. The burkha is cultural NOT religeous
I think it needs to be better publicised why the burka is actually worn; men aren't responsible for their (sexual) urges in Sharia, so a woman who doesn't cover herself is effectively asking to be raped. It's a symbol of the huge gap in equality between men and women in Islam, and it has no place in western society.
The only cuts that needs to be...! is all the politician that created and helped collapse the economy in 2008 and the one for sure thats coming by the end of this year....!
The moneytree system will not work the way it is..! and if Corupt politicians say thay need to bail out the BANKS ...! LET THEM GO UNDER...!
Sound to me like a new Bhurka law doesn't need to exist. They just need to enforce existing law about hidden faces in inappropriate places like banks etc.
@PlasteringKing25 Halliburton and who ever knew about the seals are at fault, although the insanely large number of safety violations on b.p rigs makes them doubly responsible
@majikninja07 I was talking about the release. Obama and his administration are at fault to, it is his job to regulate the MMS. The MMS was turing a blind eye because the government was doing the same with them. Asking a corporation to worry about safety violations is insane, profit is their main concern. Their is a reason the MMS was created. Halliburton, no. BP cut back on costs.
@PlasteringKing25 if i am not mistaken haillburton layed the cement, and was in the process of put in the "plugs" and after half were in is when this happened
@majikninja07 I thought BP tried to blame Haillburton but couldn't get anything to stick. That's why Tony Haworth was brought to Capitol Hill. I think your wrong on this one, BP were cutting back on costs but if you have any links to any info please let me know.
