  • The reason why the lipid theory reigns today is largely due to political influence. Dr. Ancel Keys was in league with Senator George McGovern (D, South Dakota) who pushed this theory as a way of making money. A money racket is all it ever was.

  • I was suffering from heartburn, piles, bad ADHD, tiredness, aggression.

I decided to increase my saturated fat intake and cut out grain. I have a fried breakfast every morning.

All of my symptoms have disappeared.

cholesterol diet?” Seneff S,. Wainwright G., and Mascitelli L.

    Arch Med Sci 2011; 7, 1: 8-20

    DOI: 10.5114/aoms.2011.20598

  • Our modern medical obsession with the lowering of our ‘blood lipid cholesterol’ may need to be

reversed now that the long term effects on our health and wealth become better understood and more scientifically documented.

“Cholesterol Lowering Therapies and Membrane Cholesterol”

    Wainwright G., Mascitelli L. and Goldstein M. R.

Archives of Medical Science 2009; Volume 5, Issue 3, pages 289-295

  • Your brain is about 2% of your body mass but it contains 25% of your body’s cholesterol.

Cholesterol accounts for around 20% of all the molecules in all the membranes of every cell in your body.

If this proportion of cholesterol is reduced to 18% your cells will begin to fail, become

    deformed and start to leak.

  • This video is bad science. The evidence base to suggest cholesterol as an independent and powerful risk factor for coronary heart disease is enormous.

It started with studies like Framingham, continued with confirmations from the 7 countries study, The Asia-Pacific cohorts studies, the Prospective Studies Collaboration metaanalysis of 100000 events, all the randomized controlled trials with different therapies to lower blood cholesterol using different classes and molecules within classes.

  • @moflaher Correlation isn't causation however. There is little evidence to show that reducing cholesterol through drugs reduces heart attacks. All statins help do is leave the corpses with lowered cholesterol.

  • @ClintonKeithConsult Precisely. When companies like Lipitor claim that statins reduce the risk of heart attack by 33%, they're distorting the data. Statistically, 3 out of every 100 people in their studies suffered heart attacks, and after taking Lipitor it went down to 2 out of every 100.

  • @moflaher

Statistical association does not prove causation.

The point is there is no proof of cholesterol causing any disease.

Statistical associations produce hypotheses at best - they are not proof.

The 7 countries studies was selected from 22 available at that time.

Now that really is beyond unscientific - it is called fraud today.

The other countries proved the opposite and were left out.

  • @moflaher Wow, this shows you don't even read the supposed "studies" you cite.

Framingham demonstrated that intake of cholesterol in the diet had absolutely no correlation with heart disease. You'd know that if you'd read it instead of believing what others say...

Ancel Keys even said "There’s no connection whatsoever between the cholesterol in food and cholesterol in the blood. And we’ve known that all along."

The director of Framingham even said Cholesterol isn't a risk factor.

  • @moflaher also, there's never been ONE randomized controlled trial positively linking dietary intake of cholesterol to heart disease.

Any that have even suggested such a link have other confounding variables.

All properly done studies disprove the lipid hypothesis. After hundreds of millions of dollars trying to prove the lipid hypothesis, it's still that - a hypothesis.

And the vast majority of studies discredit it. You're in denial to suggest otherwise.

  • @moflaher as for the large studies you mention - observational and meta-analysis of observational studies prove nothing.

You can use an observational study to suggest playing basketball makes you tall. It's a stupid argument.

As for the RCT's using statins to show improvement in cardiac risk from lowering cholesterol - all very easily debunked, all are seriously flawed and don't stand up to scrutiny when compared to non-pharmaceutical-industry studies.

  • @moflaher of course, if you want to believe only data from pharmaceutical companies...

If you want to discount Framingham's real results...

If you want to use only observational studies (which any scientist will tell you cannot prove causation)...

If you refuse to read the RCT's that show otherwise, and refuse to listen to the own words of Ancel Keys (Author of the 7 countries study) who denied it...

... then you obviously want to remain in your ignorant dogma. Good luck to you.

  • Thank you for this video. Bad science has caused enough damage and it must stop.

  • Where can I find a copy of this graph?

  • The Simon Broome Familial Hyperlipidaemia Register Group study found higher heart disease deaths but lower cancer and other cause rates - overall life expectancy was the same or higher. The Finnish study by Pro Tatu Miettinen and Dr. Helena Gylling found no association between LD and heart disease death risk in those with FH. Those with FH have normal cerebral arteries, why a risk to one part of the system and not another if cholesterol was to blame?

  • @pitflee in diabetics, the lower limb arteries develope atherosclerosis yet the upper limb arteries hardly ever even when the diabetic control is poor.medical science has no explanation.eat healthy ( loads of whole fruits whole grains vegs) exercise keep your weight down , stop smoking. drink c2h5oh moderately.

  • Pharma companies have a responsibility to maximise profits for shareholders. This is done by selling prescription medicines at the highest margins the pay. By the time the fats and cholesterol myth was being exposed in scientific papers , the lowering cholesterol industry was making a fortune. The regulators and their advisers (eminent research scientists funded by the same industry) have a few conflicts of interest to deal with before they can be trusted. You make your own minds up.

    Seneff S., Wainwright G., and Mascitelli L.

European Journal of Internal Medicine 2011

    DOI:10.1016/j.ejim.2010.12.017

  • Through evolution have our body's adjusted to handling fatty hamburgers from Mcdonalds...No. Eat healthy, exercise, and be stress free and you will notice an improvement in your health. I think that telling people it is ok to eat fatty foods and not to worry about cholesterol is a load of junk. People with familial hypercholesterolemia don't have the choice of reducing their cholesterol through diet so they have to take statin drugs to reduce them. They have proven to increase their life expe

  • @lukewiseman4 I reintroduced red meat (and eggs) back into my diet about 10 weeks ago -- my cholesterol levels improved and blood pressure is down quite a bit. No, it was good grass fed beef, not a McDonald's Hamburger (big difference, especially when you include the bun). I think the sugar, processed foods and flour were bigger culprits than dietary cholesterol. You may want to check out thincs dot org for discussions about this.

  • I don't know about Big Pharma but where I am from there has to be proven studies to show that the drug has appropriate efficacy. High cholesterol is bad just like ingesting too much water can cause toxic effects. Look at people with Familial hypercholesterolemia who have common symptoms of Chest pain (angina) or other signs of coronary artery disease. In these people their cholesterol levels are too high and that is why they get these symptoms. Statin drugs have proven their efficacy.

  • How come this guy is fat? Looks like another Dr Atkins waiting for a heart attack after his grass fed bacon bunless burger.

  • @durianriders Alright raw vegan douchebag with no science to back up your lifestyle, this guy is wearing a suit which has a restricting collar, something I know you never wear. Did Dr. Atkins die of a heart attack? Were there statistics of people who followed his diet who died of heart attacks? Or did it work for some and help them lose weight? Atkins' diet is an exaggeration of a point. Saying that animal fat doesn't make you fat.

  • @thespecter2 ha ha! You think Dr Kendrick has a fat neck cos of his shirt? LOL! How about blaming the fat? Or maybe its all 'muscle' and he is just 'robust'. ;)

  • @durianriders Ha, I am somewhat saying that. Ok, he has some extra fat. lol. Even though I would never eat the way you do, you have some cool videos. You are good at freestylin' poetry too.

  • .... Hmmmm are these all deaths from heart attacks?, cause if it isnt it just shows that austrailians are crazy!!!!

  • 4 watchers work for Pfizer

  • If people knew that meat, dairy and eggs were the most nutritious foods, it would bankrupt the western world because it costs more than 20 times as much money to put a pound of meat on the table than it takes to put a pound of grain or potatoes on the table. This is exactly why the government only funded scientific studies that supported saturated fat fear. Read: "They're Making You Fat and Sick"

  • @howtogetwell: Agree. Imagine if we were farming the right way, producing 400 head of cattle per acre like Joel Salatin instead of 80 per acre like the industrial garbage model. Talk about more cost effective. But hey, every American "DESERVES" to eat meat 3 times per day, OWN a home, and have FREE healthcare. My morning b-fast is 12oz of raw whole milk with 2 pastured eggs, raw, mixed in with some espresso or orange juice. As the FDA would say, I'm playing Russian Roulette with my health.

  • hahahahaha. Of course different races are going to be at higher risk of heart disease...its genetics. However if you took one race and looked at people within that race who had a high cholesterol diet vs a low cholesterol diet you would see your correlation between cholesterol and heart problems. Cholesterol has proven to cause atherosclerosis physiologically

  • this is really interesting. It would be nice to see a similar graph with sugar consumption. Very good video, man.

  • WOW! The balls on "some" intellectually-dishonest "doctors" (and their corresponding conflicts of "special" interest) to challenge the freakin' W.H.O.! Not to mention people's personal experiences with improved health!

    .

One book (BYPASSING BYPASS: THE NEW TECHNIQUE OF CHELATION THERAPY, A NON-SURGICAL TREATMENT FOR IMPROVING CIRCULATION AND SLOWING THE AGING PROCESS) linked cholesterol-lowering drugs to a debilitating side effect on brains (composed of 90% CHOLESTEROL), known as PSYCHOSIS!!!

  • eat asparagus, avocado & watermelon if you have cholesterol problems.

  • i entered medicine 30 years a go befor the cholesterol test had been developed. i watched as the test was marketed and sold to hospitals and doctors that had no use for it. it was an opportunity to make 7 or 8 cents on each test sold, world wide. the need for the test was invented, man made. no one had even dreamed of making a drug to lower it. they just wanted to sell a useless test.

  • i have an interview in a Greek paper of the French expert he says the same about the cholesterol myth. Dr Michel de Lorgeril, cardiologue et chercheur au CNRS

    check his blog

  • my Cholesterol two weeks ago was 9.7. lets just say im trying to lower it

  • The cause of heart and cardiovascular disease is inflammation, this makes the LDL raise. Its like blaming the firefighter for showing up at the fire, and trying to put it out. Cholesterol is in every living cell PERIOD! A war against cholesterol is technically a war against cells.

  • @alickamoso1 So true. I wonder why doctors don't treat infection the way they do cholesterol. When there's an infection and they look at the blood, they see elevated white blood cells. The conclusion should be, that elevated WBCs caused the fever, so we will invent a drug that renders the body unable to make WBCs. Makes as much sense as statins. Sounds like homicide to me me.

  • Absolutely agreed. The real cause, as best as we know, is elevated triglycerides that cause LDL lipoproteins (not cholesterol itself) to get small and dense. The irony is that triglycerides increase the most from highly refined carb diets, which was the natural alternative to avoiding the supposedly bad saturated fats. Saturated fats if anything reduce the incidence of heart disease by increasing the size of LDL, avoiding clogging arteries in the first place.

  • @2trey4five I tease people by showing a picture of me at 265, then 225 by eating bacon in place of whole grains.

  • Proves they are looking for the wrong thing.

Eating bread & marg. makes me fatter, not unprocessed meats & all the other "evils".. Why is that?

  • so it seems lithuanians, aboriginals & czechs have the highest heart disease death rate, i wonder whether these results are due to diet or lifestyle or whether it is a totally other factor such as a genetic one.

  • Good question - if you look into the research on this further you will find that the variance is more related to dietary lifestyle than genetic.

Over the last 10 years in lipid research -

Low LDL is now seen to cause problem in neurons and nerve cells (see cholesterol-lipid raft functions in ganglia and mitochondria).

First a heart pill to lower cholesterol - now a brain pill to raise it - a double your money strategy for a 27 billion dollar p.a. medicine.

  • @glynwainwright "mental illness" is another phantom disorder in America, in my common sense observation...a way to get people to buy drugs

  • @glynwainwright Where did you get your data? I can't find anything on google.

  • @glynwainwright How come Stephen Byrnes died from fatal heart attack at age 42? How come Dr Atkins died from fatal heart attack and the autospy reports showed CHRONIC heart disease? He died weighing 258lbs!! oh yeah, he put on that weight AFTER death..yeah the devil pumped him full of organic steamed brown rice and veggies..

  • Durianrider, Doctor Atkins died from slipping on the ice. His heart function was mostly normal, but he had a small problem caused by a ** viral ** infection.

How come rude and ignorant poeple like you have to make up garbage to slander good people who are trying to help the masses? You useless shred of human debris.

  • @AppleSouffle : Would you expect anything less from a fruitarian nutjob religionist? Leave him to his fruits and nuts ...

  • @durianrider In fact Dr. Atkins died 'epidural hematoma', he slipped on ice while walking to work, and hit his head. In his hand, written, "h/o MI, CHF, HTN", meaning heart attack, congestive heart failure, and hypertension.

Though only in his hand, anti-atkins associates, spread the rumor, saying, "died of his own diet"

  • @boscombefun read malcolm kendrick's book (the great cholesterol con)

  • @boscombefun How come Dr Kendrick has a fat neck like a red neck steak muncher? I mean how come he aint ripped, lean, fit and strong like Doug Graham-author of the 80/10/10 diet?

  • @durianrider : Maybe Graham supplements his diet with steak. Cheating is commonplace amongst fruitarians and vegans. Many have come forward and reported such cheating. The body knows what it truly needs and idealistic nutjobs pushing all fruit diets can't change 2.5M years of human evolution. Reality is a bitch, huh?

  • fascinating!

  • Great Video!!!! Tottaly Agree With What U say!!! Im glad finally they apologised for blaming Saturated fats of a crime they did not commint but sugar, starch and vegetable oils did!! Wow!! Finally!! greetings from London

  • could anybody please point me how to get the original data from monica, framingham, etc?

I keep seeing amazing claims like this, which, if true, would put the lipid hypothesis immediately to rest. Yet, I cannot see the original data if I look for them in the WHO - monica web page.

    cheers,

    Antonio

  • If cholesterol is good for you, why is there such a prevalent and widely circulated belief that cholesterol is bad and causes heart deisease? I don't understand. Is there a conspiracy with some gain to an entity? Otherwise, why would the general belief against Cholesterol exist?

  • Good question - the answer is in the power struggle between Ancel keys and the AHA in the 50s/60s. We now have a 30 billion dollar industry betting that cholesterol suddenly after millions of years of evolution became a disease producing substance. It was by asking questions about how that switch could happen I found out the wonderful trth about cholesterol and the commercial/politcal/health errors that panicked the US government to condemn cholesterol and fat.

  • This week the american journal of clinical nutrition has published a paper declaring saturated fats to be innocent of causing heart disease - and pointing the finger at the substances that replaced it in our food. It is all clear if you read the basic biology of what cholesterol and fat does in our bodies. Pass the butter please.

Full fat milk is a whole food for rearing mammals. Eggs contain everything you need to make a healthy chick! Beware of processed food and pharmacy industries.

  • Be careful with dairy. We are the only animals on the planet that continue to drink milk after we are weened. Animal fat is fine, but the casein in milk can cause villus atrophy. In the less extreme, the glues in dairy, wheat, corn & soy clog the small intestine and prevent nutrient absorption. Yes, people who drink milk for the calcium and preventing calcium absorption. Milk will NOT fend off osteoporosis as well as other Calcium sources. For butter, go with clarified Ghee (no casein).

  • @glynwainwright

It would be much appreciated if you specify what paper you are talking about. Assuming it is either

Im starting my 3rd month on a LCHF diet and when i started my colesterol was at 5,75mmol/l. After another 3 months we'll see if it has changed...

  • @jweymarn @jweymarn A few years ago I had my cholesterol level measured at 6.2 so I went on an almost total vegan low fat diet for 8 months before having it measured again. It had increased to 6.5!

There is a strong genetic component to the levels of cholesterol production in the body which of course varies between individuals . Seemingly my body was not happy about the reduction in my dietary cholesterol and compensated by producing more. Refined carbohydrates are the real killers.

  • Comment removed

  • never blame on sinisterness what can be blamed on stupidity. its not a conspiracy, its a mistake. they were simply wrong about cholesterol. they see it in arteries and think its the problem. its actually a defensive result of heart disease, not the disease itself. cholesterol is a repair product in the body. it collects to seal up damaged areas in arteries. arteries that are already damaged by chronic low level inflammation. and no one is saying its "good for you." it just is.

  • I lowered my LDL by increasing saturated fat (including red meat) and lowering whole grains. Much to the chagrin of the PA. I pointed out he also thought "global warming" was something real.

  • LDL chiolesterol has a vital job to do for our immune systems and myelin production in neurons. Hope you haven't caused any problems by lowering LDL. Send your doctor back to study Biochem 101.

See above comment on cholesterol evolution.

  • @glynwainwright A PA isn't a doctor, but close. Notice the part about chagrin.

  • @bigmouthbob a PA is a one year doctor. as opposed to a six to ten year doctor. i would say they are one step above a nurse. and a nurse is just a maid with IV insertion skills.

  • @glynwainwright Yeah and can anyone explain why Sally Fallon is fat and Dr KenDICK has a turkey neck? I thought this fad diet was meant to make you lean, fit and strong? All I see is fat, unseen and wrong! ;)

  • @durianrider : I have the same question you have but it goes out to the vegan crowd. Why are most of the vegans I see or know personally overweight or obese? In fact, there's a famous one that started out skinny and is now huge!!! Ever heard of KD Lang, the singer?

  • @durianrider and glynwainwright: It's really not about protein, fat, and carbs. It's about eating REAL foods - raw and whole as much as possible. God gave us the plant first to eat, then animals. Most people just shovel animal products and never eat any plants. You can expose truth and still eat donuts, chips, soda, and other pseudo foods. And the animal products in this country don't even qualify as real animal products anyways. All farms, including industrial, should be based on grass...

  • @durianrider Well, Sally Fallon and the Weston A. Price Foundation also push grains. The only minor difference is they soak or sprout their grains. Big deal! The high carbohydrate content remains. If Sally Fallon is the best example you have of a low-carb eater, then try again. How about Gary Taubes? Is he a big fat guy to you? You must be a beanpole then. There are plenty of fat vegans out there also. Proves nothing.

  • very strenge

  • What about the cholesterol level of the US? I understand that there is no correlation between good cholesterol and heart disease... b/c France, etc... they eat and drink things that have high cholesterol levels that are good for you... like olive oil, balsamic viniger, red wine etc... but I have a hard time believing that something like a cheese burger and diet pepsi life style is heart attack free... and I think it's interesting that the US or even North America was not put on the test.

  • The french eat more saturated fat than we do.

The masai in africa took more than half their calories from saturated fat (butter) and through autopsy were shown to have zero incidence of heart disease.

The Tokelau of New Zealand area ate a diet with more than 35% saturated fat from fish and coconut, and had absolutely no incidence of heart disease until they emigrated to mainland new zealand and were introduced to sugar.

Read "Good Calories, Bad Calories" or "Vegetarian Myth" for proof!

  • While nutrition labels usually combine them, the saturated fatty acids appear in different proportions among food groups. Lauric and myristic acid radicals are most commonly found in "tropical" oils (e.g. palm kernel, coconut) and dairy products. The saturated fat in meat, eggs, chocolate, and nuts is primarily the triglycerides of palmitic and stearic acid. Epidemiological studies of heart disease have implicated the four major saturated fatty acids to varying degrees.

  • The World Health Organization has determined that there is "convincing" evidence that myristic and palmitic acid intake increases the probability, "possible" risk from lauric acid, and no increased risk at all from stearic acid consumption. And it cannot possibly be denied that the portions of a typical American diet is by far larger then any other country, and rich in myristic and palmitic acid.

  • The French diet consists of significantly less sugar than the American diet. The French eat pastries, but the pastries are more buttery than sugary. Sugar is an addictive substance when it is refined and consumed in large quantities. Obviously, some sugar is good for us. But this sugar needs to come from fruits and vegetables. Over consumption of sugar leads to increased weight, which is linked to increased heart disease.

  • Anthocyanins are flavonoids known as polyphenols that pack a powerful punch through antioxidants. Anthocyanins are found in copious quantities in red grapes. Thus, red wine provides the French with a protection against heart disease, even though the typical French diet is high in saturated fat.

  • Thanks for taking your time to share this information.

The evidence that the WHO offers is, at best, epidemiological and correlative, but has never been proven to be causative, ever. I think there is more evidence to support the notion that saturated fat in general is, if anything, protective.

  • I base these conclusions on many many studies:See the Framingham or Nurses studies, which attempted to show fat/cholesterol as potentially dangerous and instead showed strong correlations between increased sat fat/cholesterol consumption and the reduced risk of disease/all-cause mortality. All I can do is consider the evidence, and draw my own conclusions. To date, all the evidence indicates to me that animal fats are good for us, and refined grains and sugars are not. Thanks again Fat-dissolver

  • i am studing nutrition at uni. and we are being taught that excess unhealthy fat intake and general unheathy lifestyle choices (lack of exercise etc) causes cardiovasuclar disease. But then I read about this "cholesterol myth" in a book, and now my life is confused.

  • I have already suffered 2 heart attack & have what my phsyican calls dangerously high triglycerides & LDL, and i was told that if i do not get these levels under control i will have another. This did frighten me and i knew i needed to do something to reverse this damage. I knew plant sterols were powerful so i tried Sterolyn, and i'm very proud to say that my triglycerides have gone from 512 all the way down to 155. LDL count down from 240 to 132. Great product.

  • I agree BimLanders, I think if more people were aware of what causes heart disease and how to prevent it some lives may be saved. I've always believed that Omega 3 is extremely important for heart health and overall well being. I would encourage anyone suffering from cholesterol to take them! I know many people around me have recommended Neurovi, com due to the enhanced ratio of DHA to EPA, even over the popular GNC brand.

  • Please note that no one suffers from cholesterol, which is essential to health.

Blaming cholesterol for disease is like blaming blue flashing lights for blocking motorways.

    Association does not prove causality.

  • Dr Kendrick is interested in the link between social dislocation and heart disease, which would certainly explain the problems the Australian aboriginals suffer.

  • What causes cardiovascular disease???

  • there are about 500 factors that can cause heart disease ... altered oils like Canola, Soy, all hydrogenated oils ... Many of these factors impact the first enzyme the Delta 6 which causes a breakdown in metabolizing EFAs into more LCPUFAs that make ecosinoids which work locally off our cell membranes and perform everything from tumour necrosis to vasal dialation. The Western diet of processed food has a huge impact on the system of metabolizing Essential Fatty Acids

  • I wonder sometimes if it's the stray calcium in milk. My heart doctor told me to stay away from it because it'll deposit on my donor valve and calcify it - it's dead tissue so it's expected, but I wonder if it can wear on regular arteries and such. The calcium in milk isn't absorable because of the human mucous response to milk in the belly and because it's not with magnesium, so it's stray. I don't know, but I'd say we do best if we follow Gods dietary guidelines.

  • pasteurized milk i mean

  • This should all be front page news. And yet the media is silent.

  • THANK YOU for providing accurate information, and for fighting for better health for all of us against some very powerful interests. I was on statins for over a year and suffering from exhaustion. I've been off of them for a few months and feel MUCH better.

  • nice video

  • Wow. I've been reading Kendrick for years, it's nice to put a face on all of that.

Kendrick is SPOT ON. Bring on the steaks, please.

  • Please look into both Dr. Uffe Ravnskov and Anthony Colpo . They both expose this thoroughly and are people with integrity.

Dr. Ravnskov is the head of THINCS a scientific organization with 70 some scientists dedicated to alerting the public about the cholesterol sham.

    Please spread the facts everywhere.

  • Anthony Colpo also dismantles the Lipid Hypothesis of cornary artery disease brick by brick in his book "The Great Cholesterol Con"

This book contains over 1,400 references many of them being the references to the original papers of the original studies proving the Lipid Hypothesis to be a complete sham with no basis at all in science. It really is documented proof.

Spread the facts around everywhere. We need this sham to be exposed

  • And indeed, Dr. Kendrick has a book by (unfortunately) the exact same name.

  • I am rejecting my docs recommendation to take cholesterol lowering meds. I am urging my husband to do the same. My only reason thus far was because I simply can't believe that 50 years ago everyone died of heart disease. People are dying of heart disease at a faster rate today! Ya don't have ta be a genius! While were at it check out the real data on the guardisil vaccine for our LITTLE GIRLS

  • Thanks for the comment on 'regressing figures' on Dietary fats.

More detailed papers available via the THINCS website

    You can just google THINCS

I can't put a web address in the responses

  • From the EU Monica WHO data I took all data on fat intake and CHD rate from virtually all European countries for1998-1999 The data was then regressed using Quattro Pro. The regression line was drawn using the results. Both analyses show that doubling the national fat intake reduces the national Coronary Heart Disease rate by half!

    Total Fat (%of diet)

    Multiple R 0.667; Regression "p" = 5.43 E-07

    Saturated Fat Intake (%of diet)

    Multiple R = 0.584; Regression = "p" < 0.00001

  • Mike what is your role in CVD research?

  • I do not see the relevance of the query. The raw data is published . Anyone with a spreadsheet, stats pack or calculator (even a Brunsviga) can do the regression and it does not take a CVD expert to observe the negative slope (ie, more fat intake, less CHD).

However, I have degrees in vetmed & maths etc. I have been doing drug, epidemiology, nutrition research + stats for 50+ yrs & much else. I am thus reasonably competent to comment on this analysis.Try JAMA. 2005 Apr 20;293(15):1861-7.

  • Excellent video. It's amazing how the cholesterol myth lives on with all the evidence against it. And good comment, SQUIBM. You've summarized the cholesterol myth.

  • This is an excellent presentation that illustrates the erroneous association of serum cholesterol and heart disease, designed to drive statin drug sales.

Cholesterol is an essential fat; elevated levels indicate a healing response. Death statistics show an inverse trend; higher cholesterol translates to lower death rates from heart disease.

It's likely that individuals with more cholesterol tend to heal better from a other, as yet undermined, factors which cause heart disease.

  • Thanks for the comment

the THINCS website has lots of info on this.
