@tpirrules19a - That's strange, because the "National Information Center Statement" is a real EAS Alert code. As recently as 2004, an EAS handbook referenced the National Information Center.
@EASvideocreator I did google EAS codes, and the first link I saw was on the National Weather Service page, the list of EAS SAME codes, and "NIC" was one. I wonder what it is truly for. To broadcast an EAS alert for bank data? lol. ;-) Seriously though, it is something to wonder.
The National Information Center is actually an actual entity, but it is a financial entity.
According to its website, "The National Information Center (NIC) is a central repository of data about banks and other institutions for which the Federal Reserve has a supervisory, regulatory, or research interest, including both domestic and foreign banking organizations operating in the United States. This web site provides access to NIC data, allowing the public to search for detailed information
Oh, BTW, sounds like an impending nuclear strike. defconwarningsystem has said before that large-scale cyberattacks are possible before a nuclear attack
@Kenshin891: You want to know something? This is actually a preview to a video I'm hoping to finish soon. I will tell you this, though: it won't quite be what you might have been expecting ;-).
According to the FCC EAS handbooks the order of priority during an EAN is Presidential messages, Local Area messages, Statewide messages, and then "Bulletins from the National Information Center" last. So, IDK, sounds like Nationwide info. that's not coming directly from the White House
August 12th, 2013: will always be remembered by Americans as the day where Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Orlando and Atlanta lost all feasible wiring and electrial supplies.
Due to multiple terrorist vaccum bombs by the use of hijacked bomber aircraft. How they got them and how they made it past security without any futher delay is still not, and may never be known.
FYI, National Information Center Statements are to tell the public what happened after an Emergency Action Termination has been sent.

about banking organizations."
So there's your random fact of the day. Go Google! Basically, there is an NIC, but not how it is used here.

"be prepared to take action" just means "get ready to go out of your way to escape danger".
