I am very familiar with this computer, as I worked at Eastman Kodak and they had 2 of these in the film testing dept. I operated the computer as well as programmed it in assembler. The H-200 was an octal machine and you can see the operator enter 41 (the code for the card reader) and then press the boot key, then the run key. The code to boot from tape was octal 40. The 1/2 inch tapes were 7 track, which were later replaced by the more standard 9 track 1600 bpi (which you see in this video).
IBM produced a computer system for the Third Reich, so that prisoners, in concentration camps, could be kept track of. Love that good old American know how.
Sounds like the plot from another movie. (sort of like this one)
I wouldn't be surprised if card sorting and collating equipment may have been used for this purpose, but IBM did not make their first computer until long after WW2 around 1953.
@rollsthepaul You are an idiot and a liar. They did not produce a computer system so that the prisoners in concentration camps, could be kept track of. Yes the Nazi's used Hollerith equiptment during the war but for you to say that it was designed for that purpose is a fabrication of your infantile mind.
@rollsthepaul they also made M-1 rifles and Browning automatic rifles. IBM also produced the Sperry and Norden bomb sights as well as engine parts — in all, more than three dozen major ordnance items and 70 products over all and made a one percent profit on those products and used the profits to establish a fund for widows and orphans of IBM war casualties.
