Casey Bowman (not sure of the actor's name)

The actor is Paul Anthony Stewart. Casey was killed off the show in 1995 when he was shot by a drug kingpin. A few years later the actor appeared on Guiding Light, where he played Danny Santos until 2005 (and he showed up on the last episodes of that show last month).
