I was playing around with creating a time laps with the livecam today. It was a dark cloudy day today so not a good time. Did you right click and save each image then create the movie? If so thanks for taking all day to create this. Did you find an automated way to capture the photos?
@Pathfinder767 Cheers, Oh no that would be very time consuming. I used some software to automatically save the image at a regular interval. I think I used HyperCam or HyperSnap and then made the movie from the files.
Watching the weather change throughout the day is as interesting as the geysers, particualry when the wind shifts direction 180 degrees late in the day and it appears to rain. The smaller geyser on the left is also interesting. I counted 3 non-periodic eruptions, at 0:55, 1:08, and the largest at 2:31. As my son said, I see why it's not called Old Faithful.
@comedyhunter Thank you for taking the time to make this video and for sharing your interests. Our 10 year-old found it is as fascinating as I did. We need to get out there one of these days. It's on the list.
It almost seems like that the mechanism for eruption is that as the number of people gathered at the viewing platform increases, that number exceeds a critical threshold and causes the eruption. Then the people get bored and go away, and the cycle begins anew.

@TMO948 Yes I think someone else commented on the wind direction changing.
Its a very strange place, you wander around on wooden walkways and there are small geysers everywhere but non as predicable as OF.
