  • can you upload the piano part from 1:30-2:35 pleeeeease?! im begging you.

  • MGS2 was my first MGS game; at this point of the game, my mind was so fucked up because of the argumental twists near the end, that i didn't know what to feel (I didn't know if Raiden's life was all invented by The Patriots, or Rose was real), and all the child soldier with thraumas thing didn't help at all... I must say this song fit that moment in a perfect way... at least for me

  • @amsaa91 Hope I can fuck your mind up more with this. Raiden was trained by Solidus Snake who is Solid Snake's clone, "brother" who is the president during MGS 1.

  • @hercludes Haha too late, I've already played all the games! :D

  • 1 person doesnt know who he is.

  • This isnt the same version that is on MGS4

  • @ContraCommando me too! I remember this was the first ps2 game I had back in 2001. That was years AGO!

  • @Fr0zen14 Hey me to :D

  • Who am i really? I am... Revolver Ocelot!

  • This is the most beautiful piece of music in the entire series and if I have to pick the best MGS, the 2nd would be it. No other game I have ever "lived" in as much as MGS2, it's entire narrative and emotionality is simply beyond a videogame. The way the sunset with Emma before her death marks the descent of day into night, of Big Shell into Arsenal Gear, of a "landmark of environmental protection" into a landmark of insanity, the facing of Raiden's trauma and identity, defines the MGS-experienc

  • @DonFarshido I have to disagree. I found MGS1 better. I prefer Snakes origin story over Raiden's. PERSONALLY MY FAVORITE EVENT IN MGS HISTORY IS THE SHADOW MOSES INCIDENT.

  • Am I the only one who finds this familiar to some robocop theme?

  • Comment removed

  • Gives me memories of first opening my new copy of MGS2 day one waaaay back in 2001.

  • Does anyone know who wrote this piece?

  • Norihiko Hibino

  • why buy the cd when you have this? LOL.

  • @Yodio12 because with ur very own cd you can hear this beautiful song anytime, anywhere u go..

  • Oh and can someone please post the MGS4 version? I'd like to hear it... ^^

  • @vittau It's somewhere on the internet. I found it some day, but I lost the site. I know it's somewhere out there, but you can't download it, you could just listen to it. I'm desperately searching for the site again...if I found it, I tell you.

  • This is seriously one of the best piano pieces I've ever heard... So serene and emotional, gives you hope for a better future (despite all of the bad things this series shows us for a future).

  • @vittau hey I have just found it. If you want it, let me know !!

  • @WorldOfSnakes Is it downloadable/ is it still working? If so please let me know also.

  • @Kano169 Yes it's available. I found it a couple of months ago I think. It's on my computer. Do you want me to send it to you by email? Or do you prefer that I upload it on a website, and you go get it from there?

  • @WorldOfSnakes Also, I found a 2 min. version of it on internet just now. On my computer, I have the full 8 min. version of the song as it's played on the ipod in MGS4. I looked for years for it! However if you just want the 2 min. version, which sums up the best parts, I'll send you a link in a message.

  • I would laugh if ZOE turned out to be in the FAR future of the MGS universe xD

  • @benkai343434 no becuz the orbital frames are not controlled only by its runner or if sum1 bindes them wit a certain ability plus its based on anime lol n Kojima only produced it he dint write the script or illustration he was pretty much on the background checkin' on it 2 c if it was worth the money lol

  • @Blaze187Killa dude what? The anime and the movie were made after the game =_=

  • @benkai343434 i do no tht yano hench why the 1st game dnt have anime cut scenes unlike ZOE 2 lol

  • I think no one was more fit than Snake to say the lines he did. Just like Solidus and Liquid, his ability to pass on a torch of his own to a child of his own creation was stolen from him before he even fully came into the world, a world where he was forced to end life after life because he was born for that sole purpose. That's probably the best motivation anyone can have for fighting for a better future the way he did.

  • maybe raiden :P

  • I am a lot of fan of the xbox 360 and of the Halo also, but the series Metal Gear it always marked my life (I have all for table consoles... minus the four) and as the quality of both titles, I have to admit, MGS4is away better.

  • No doubt the greatest game series ever, also the most emotional, amazing realisticness throughout the series (especially in 4) makes it tear-jerking. The last fight with liquid was the greatest thing ever, bringing back memories of the originals brought me to tears (yeah its puncy but its some amazing shit). And to say people think Halo is better then this xD

  • who said they could think?? they're on laced shit if they think Halo can even compare to this beautiful art or masterpiece

  • Dunno y but that made my day. And there are alot of annoying, childish and sad little gaylo fans out there that go along with its already far too-overratedness that makes so many ppl cry in anger.

  • Aye, simply the greatest series of games ever created.

  • It sounds like the Clockwork Orange track

  • Are you insane ?

  • This game is gonna change my life forever....Astonishing, yet so emotional and actiony' That i cant go to any other games than this one. Hideo Kojima, Keep going!

  • yeah but its different in mgs 4 its more epic

  • When is this played in MGS4? I don't remember hearing it.

  • its on the ipod

  • @dotkristian when raiden saves snake from the ship;)

  • no one quiet knows who or what there are

  • if people dont appreciate metal gear, get in touch with the emotional part of video gaming

  • the piano part is beautiful!

  • Just seeing the great ending of the game was worth all of the hardship that I put into finishing it. This game was directed well. I love watching the videos.

  • Err..Anyone noticed the title of the song in the first seconds of the video is wrong?

  • Yeah I noticed that too.

  • Snake: What's that?

    Raiden: Dogtags..

    Snake: Anyone you know?

Raiden: No.. never heard of the name before.

  • i put the dogtags as my name "Raiden". and when he said "No...never heard of the name before." retard! lol.

  • where can we find the mgs4 version of this song? except in mgs4

  • ive been asking that too, this ones too short!

  • Building the future, and keeping the past alive are one and the same thing. // Solid Snake.

Man, I've built my life around the last speach Snake had in MGS2. I'm serious!

  • show me some of the quotes that are deeply Philosophical please. I like to critically think about some of them.

  • play the game, mate? that's about it!

    But here's one....

"Life isn't just about passing on your genes. We can leave behind much more then just DNA. Through speach, music, litreture and movies. What weave seen, heard, felt. Anger, joy and sorrow. These are the things I will pass on. That's what I live for."

  • We need to pass the torch, and let our children read our messy and sad history by its light. We have all the magic of the digital age to do that with. The human race will probably come to an end some time, and new species may rule over this planet. Earth may not be forever, but we still have the responsibility to leave what traces of life we can. Building the future and keeping the past alive are one and the same thing.

  • Snake gave us all something to think about..u just cant imagine that a video game character could be so powerfull..

"You musnt allow yourself to be chained to fate, to be ruled by your genes..Humans can choose the type of life they want to live..the important thing is..that you choose life..and then...Live!

My favourite line in whole series, definitely..

  • No it wasn't snake but Hideo Kojima! I just remembered!!! Because of this game i started getting interested in science. (At 14 I'm doing collage lvl things!) MGS is one of those things that change your life!

  • MGS made me realize how real the threat of nuclear war is in the future. Definitely a game that will change your outlook on life.

  • Yep that what made me notice that to! I started getting interested in particle physics because of that! A nuke is powerful, but it only uses 1% of its potential energy. Imagine the destruction of something like an anti-matter bomb which would use 100%!

  • wow, there probably wont be any more nukes it'll be germ warfare next

  • Nope the raw power method is the most effective method when it comes to psychological warfare. (When you force an enemy too surrender!) No one is really interested in germ warfare, (by that using it in a war) . For the reason that it can easily go out off control, and create a deadly virus because off it!

  • This game may feature nuclear warfare but this series has always been about deeper themes, like legacy, honor, loyalty and sacrifice

  • can you tell me where I can download this music please? answer me fast

  • this song is in mgs4 as a hidden ipoid song i think, not sure, but its orchestrated one, isnteasd of piano, its violin and its kinda more better (not sure if piano is also included) but seriously, if u have ps3 or mgs4, listen to the 'who am i really' in ur ipod in mgss4 and its more better than this version :/, not trying to say the mgs4 version if better, its just making u more emotional if u guys like this song

  • i prefer the piano version tbh because the mgs4 goes on for a bit longer which i dont like but its still good ;)

  • at the end of the game, after the credits, snake's speech about how we can pass more than just dna/genes

  • Life isn't just about passing on your genes. We can leave behind much more then just DNA. Through speach, music, litreture and movies. What weave seen, heard, felt. Anger, joy and sorrow. These are the things I will pass on. That's what I live for.

  • I know Snake say's more, but I'm to lazy to wright i down :P

  • at what point in mgs2 did this track play?

  • Very awesome song. I got teary-eyed when it popped up in the 4th game.

  • e veramente stupenda.ogni volta ke a ascolto mi commuovo.

  • One of the best scores in the game. Made me want to cry when I first heard it

  • Grand Orchestra was always my favorite.

  • more like, excellent question

  • thats a good question
