  • why not try uploading the game to media fire? i've seen some game get uploaded to there

  • @babb12 - If the game is over 200MB, that won't be possible. The revamped game engine is still incomplete, so I don't know what the final size will be, but if it's under 200MB, it's going on MediaFire.

  • if you do find a place to upload it, could you put a link up so i can get it?

  • we need more games like this

  • excuse me, ace. but, the link to the download don't work anymore. i was hoping if could put another one up so i could try salamander 3.

  • @babb12 - I'm working on a major update to the game(v2.0), but I should still have a ZIP file of Full Version 1.35A, so I'll try to find a place to upload the game.

  • @Ace9921 Did you said MAJOR UPDATE?!

  • @vaderzlk11 - I sure did. I'm completely rewriting the sound engine to make use of 44100Hz OGG files for the music for enhanced sound quality as well as simplifying the graphics engine a little bit, tweaking some of the graphics and rewriting the player ship code to make it take up less space. The game has also been moved to Game Maker 8 from Game Maker 7. This is all in an effort to make the game load up faster while improving the quality at the same time.

  • would have been awesome if you could have found a way to put voice scripts into the actual game instead of the dialog bubbles on youtube, awesome game though!

  • @dalfan87 - I'm doing that for the sequel, Gradius: The Dark Armada, although, right now, I'm tied up with a whole bunch of things, so development on the game has been stalled until further notice. It's not cancelled, but it's on hold.

  • @Ace9921 Sounds good. If you need someone to help with scenery graphics once you get started back up, I would be glad to volunteer for ya, as i have some pretty good skills with programs such as photoshop, etc.

  • Hmm, shouldn't the lines of enemies move up INDIVIDUALLY and not at the same time??

  • @DMSwordsmaster - That's what should happen, but due to my inexperience back when this game was in development, I couldn't get those formation enemies to work as they should.

  • @Ace9921 Da, but did you fix it in the new versions? you DO update this with fixes regularly, right? Forgive me if I sound rude.

  • @DMSwordsmaster No, you're not rude.

And yes, I do release periodic updates to this game, however, I'm busy on another project that's been taking up all my time(it's not Gradius-related), so it will be a while until Full Version 1.4 will be released.

I'm not even sure I'll change the behavior of those group enemies. I wanted them to act that way.

  • @Ace9921 Da. I understand.

  • I have to say, I'm very glad you used the song A Fighter from Gradius II MSX. I love that song.
