ESP Horizon III & Orange Rockerverb 50 Metal Demo

I have a ESP Horizon II 5 string bass from 92. It is based on what appears to be that exact design for a 5 string bass, around 1.8k in 92. Same color and body shape as well but I think they cost too much to produce at the time to make a profit. They can make you one for about 4000 (us). Ive never seen any other pics of it on the net (only the 4 string, never the 5) on the Japanese esp archive site

@ShadowOfTheRevenant You can get this model from ESP Japan as an 'original series' you would only need to custom order if you wanted the changing color paint finish, which is now discontinued :( The 'Original Series' version comes in Black, White or Red i think, costs around $3k - hand made in Japan!

@ShadowOfTheRevenant A custom order from the ESP website is very expensive. I don't know if it's the same in all countries, but when I hit "calculate price", it was between $6000 and $9000, depending on what components you chose.

@METROIDKILLERX Hah thanks dude! This video is pretty old - but at the time i'd been playing for many years all the same. I don't really get time to practice as much as i'd like these days. When i was younger i played every day for at least an hour. The Horizon III guitars can be special ordered outside of Japan, through larger ESP Dealers, but it'll be pretty pricey!! There is an Edwards version (still made in Japan) that is great value, sometimes you see those pop up on Ebay ;)

I just focus on the things that inspire me, try to understand how and why, then incorporate those ideas into my own playing and compositions!

@lxXMETALXxl Personally, i'd rather have something with a fixed bridge for technical riffage. The floyd rose is very stable on this guitar, but it's not the same vibe as a tunomatic with stop bar or string through - you can really play those guitars very hard and they can sound real tough with worrying about tuning/bridge floating, etc.

@kuroidaiya I'd say the ESP Original Series absolutely slay any PRS. You can't really compare, since the ESP is completely hand made, hand carved, etc. The PRS are mostly CNC - PRS do use great materials, but the build quality doesn't come close. Just my opinion anyway :)

That's one of the best guitar I've ever seen. But I don't understand one thing: you said that the price is around 2k pounds... I fill up the PDF document of the ESP custom shop to simulate a custom horizon III price (with some random informations concerning certain parts of the guitar, because I don't understand the whole document...) and the result was like 5k or 6k Dollars.

So are you talking about the price of the Horizon III Original or your Horizon III with this sick color?

My Edwards H-III is pretty bright, but I can still coax a Les Paul-ish sound out of it from time to time.

@mikeisbright To say I love it is an understatement. I got the white one too. I blocked the trem cuz i'm not much of a floydguy. It comes with a SD Jazz in the neck and Custom 5 in the bridge. Coil-tapped. The neck is similar to the Thin U ESP neck.

Have fun in Japan, I went myself 2 years ago. I can't remember the names of the streest, but there's one street in Osaka which is like an outdoor mall that's just a strip of guitar shops, Tokyo has the same.

But even if the Horizon series in general isn't a custom, I'd think its safe to assume that the Horizon III is.

There is a range of guitars for the Japanese market, known as the 'Original Series' - All of these guitars are hand made in the custom shop. It includes the Horizon-III and many other models. It's not the same as the 'Standard Series' Guitars which you see in America/Europe often. You can find out more on the Japanese ESP Homepage :D

ESP USA vs. ESP JP.. .oh, really. If people don't notice the difference right away... that's sad.

ESP JP > ESP USA. Particularly for the releases under the Original series and the Artist series; the original Forest series is unavailable in the U.S., which is a common reflection...

well, duh? Lexi says IN the video that Horizon III models are custom shop guitars, made specifically to order. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only ESP Horizon guitars that I've ever heard of being stock-equipped with EMGs were all in the LTD line, which really doesn't count as the ESP original.

and with a bit of browsing, I judge that most ESP originals come with Seymour Duncans... with the minority being EMGs; the Horizon series generally has Duncans...

Yep true, but personnaly I consider my Esp ltd f-100 has an ESP, then...But yeah it's true that LTD series have EMG pickups(For the High Models ,otherwise they have ESP pickups, Like M100FM has ESP Lh-100, or my f-100 has LH-150)
