  • Where is the sustainer pickup? Or can you just buy like a bar you put between the pickups?

  • @Jugallojuicesucks the Fernandes Sustainer is basically a pickup powered by a circuit board, please visit fernandesguitars [dot] com for details

  • Hi! nice video... how many has your guitar? and about whammy bar, do you think has a good quality? thanks!

  • Sounds awesome.

  • is there no sort of switch i could add into my wiring, because my emgs sound great :/

  • Great guitar!

  • Does the sustainer work with natural harmonics too? Like for example the squealing harmonic played for example by Dimebag Darrell at the end of Cemetery Gates by Pantera.

  • IF you combine this sustainer with a seymour duncan blackout pickup, you get pretty easy feedback which you can bend the pitch with a whammy bar :)

  • what guitar iss that??

  • its sounds like mario 64 love it

  • i saw a video where avenged sevenfold's guitarist (gates) annoyed zacky (other guitarist) with this is funny

  • How much are the sustainers?

  • @oldmanherbert69 On Musician's Friend the Fernandes 101 Sustainer kit will run you about $200. I think it's fairly reasonable if you look at some of the demos here on youtube for it.

  • @coltonredwine - Is it the 101 model, being featured in this video, and also...will it work at the bridge position?

I have a single pickup route at the bridge of my steinberger copy.

    Thanks

  • @novanine9 I'm not sure if it's the 101 model, but it should all be the same regardless. As far as putting it at your bridge, I'm not sure... but if I had to guess it would work, but not quite as well, especially when using it in harmonics mode.

  • @coltonredwine i think its the 401, it is single coil and hes three knobs for mixing :)

  • have you tried playing swells on this guitar? that would be awesome!

  • Poor tapping

  • cool

  • what guitar is that?

  • ever wish to emulate violin, well these are the systems that do it.

  • What does the sustainer pedal do????

  • i like the feedback, sounds like rubbing your finger around a wine glass

  • it's actually the sound of the open strings vibrating and being sustained by the system

  • how much does this guitar cost? or at least an average fernandez with a sustainer?

  • @3R1CtheRED the fernandes guitars that have a sustainer all go for around 1000 bucks...a little steep...personally what im doing is i've bought a sustainer off of ebay (you can buy from fernandes as well) and am going to install it into my guitar...which happens to be a parker fly classic so im basicly getting an adrian blew sig for a 10th of the price :D minus the line 6 modeling system

  • @fernandesguitars which will happen when the guitar is close to a large source of sound...

  • I thought the feed back was jeyboards in the back... haha sounds awsome

  • is the bloody thing causing feedback ?

  • feed back is what get the tits hard and chills a flowin' reeeeellaxxinggg!!!!!!!

  • I INSTALLED A FERNANDES SUSTAINER IN MY 82 CHARVEL JACKSON. i LOVE IT. BUT I LIKE THE NECK BETTER ON THE FERNANDES

  • was it easy to install? Did you have to do some routing on the guitar?

Can you just put sustainer pickup on the neck pickup slot?

  • @davidrobinsonmagic the fsk 401 is a pain to install i love it but had to rout my guitar body to fit it,do a custom wiring, then because i use active pups i had to contact Gary Brauer who does Neil Schons gibsons and ended up runnin 2 seperate pwer for active n fsk as the system was oscillating, but in saying that i wouldnt be caught without it sustainer systems offer so much, also fernandes do have awesome customer service.

  • the feed back makes it sound beautiful in my opinoin anyone feel the same?

  • That's what I was just saying to my friends! Haha. It does! It sounds freaking beautiful!

  • definately!

  • im so getting one :] Type Negative has the best use of it next to K.F.K. in my opnion :]

  • i love it.

  • @mvince220 With you there! I think it sounds beautiful.

  • @mvince220 aparently 106 people do

  • ahhhh feedback. these things sound much better on the MB-1 mansons

  • lol

  • Hello, I wanted to see if we need to change at least one pickup by force or you can keep the originals .. you can help me?

  • It is best to replace the pickup, because if you put a fernandez sustainer next to a pickup, all sorts of crap will interfere with the sound of the pickup. but if you really want to keep your pickup, just put the sustainer somewhere else and rewire your guitar a bit.

  • What model guitar is that?

  • yeah no.

  • sounds like the battery is plenty new

  • much feedback

  • early fernandes here for sale .BryanEddy09,right here at youtube

  • Sounds to me like you had the Sustainer on the feedback mode instead of sustain mode.

  • do i have to install the pickup that comes with the sustainer to use the sustainer.

cuz i have a really kick ass pickup that can use the sustainer.

i'm gonna use the sustainer pickup on my stock kramer guitar.

but i want to put my new Dimarzio on a project frankenstrat with the sustainer.

  • The neck p/up is the sustainers driver,as well as p/up, so yes you need to use it.

  • I have a realy nice 1570 mrr with the Fernandez 401 kit installed, and a new low pro edge trem(hate edge pros.Evolution p/ups Also had a custom clear pickguard and trussrod cover made for it.All stainless screws and dead mint.I actualy had 4 of these made and am currently buiding another.check my page, and i can always send more pics.

  • Yes it is for sale, and from what Ive seen the best deal yet trust me..

  • my guitar i baught looks just like that but with out infinite sustainer

  • it works with big ass magnets i think its great for experimental ( did i spell that right) and jam bands i think its cool i through one in myself

  • My guitar :D

  • what guitar is it?

  • Ibanez S-series 370

  • no, it's fernandes!

  • Kinda looked at the head and figured that out a couple weeks ago...

  • how this works?

  • I think that would be more "touch technique" than tapping. You can still do the touch technique without the sustainer. And if you lose the sustainter you wont get that feedback

  • The sustainer is creating the feedback, i personally think it adds a great touch to the clean passage

  • Thats what i said, if you get rid of the sustainer, youll eliminate the feedback

  • Oh i thought you meant it like it was bad feedback, unwanted noise, my bad

  • Having a delay effect helps for sustain also.

  • my body gives off a magnetic force that vibrates the strings on my guitar so my notes last forever XD

  • yh, me too.

    lol

  • Santana doesn't need sustainers. He's himself a sustain machine.

  • yeah santana doesn't cheat

  • Feedback.. Help.

  • who is the guitar player?

  • Kiko Loureiroooo.

  • that's kiko? no its not.

  • No, my friend. I was say this tecnic is similar to kiko. Sorry for my grammar, im Spanish.

  • oh, ok no problem. hey: i've been a huge fan of Kiko (I own both of his solo albums, as well as every Angra album)... does he ever come up to North American (USA) for any shows? I'd love to see him.

  • I don't know, I'm don't know any festivals in USA. Sorry.

  • alright, thanks anyways.

  • You have a long journey ahead of you, and fer Christ's sake turn that amp down.

  • someone needs new speakers... or try this: your speakers have a little knob that controls something called volume.. look for it

  • lol

Thesimo is right... It just sounds like slow tapping with annoying feedback.

  • just sounds like slow tapping with annoying feedback

  • @tehsimo "Annoying feedback"? Wow, you stupidfucking americans can't even understand the feeling behind the - what is supposed to be a fucking feedback, but is an open note ringind - sound.

  • @leopower7 I'm british btw

  • @leopower7 It does sound pretty fucking annoying to be honest. Pretty damn cool at first, but gets old after a few secs. :P

  • @leopower7 You can't spell and your comment make no sense at all, so maybe you are stupid. The feedback is annoying. A sustainer does just what its name implies. It sustains notes, not make howling feedback.

  • sound very piecefull this tune

  • Hey I really like that! So mellow...

  • man, this sounds cool, i really enjoyed it

  • Bet my ass, ur wife kicked you out for this playing!

  • play it without any fret buzz, keep the notes and feedback controlled, never obnoxious and this peice would be mesmerizing.

  • agreed

  • Not the best demo you could do... The sustainer can give someone a unique edge for sound. Not recommended if you can't control feedback in a certain environment..

Personally, if you want a solo to end with a bend and a long note - the sustainer holds it there until the rest of the band has had enough ;) Everything else you would use it for is secondary.

  • I like the feedback, to be honest.

  • ....(yawn)....

  • No shit

  • I agree. this would be cool if the dude knew how to apply it to his song instead of just making an annoying sound the whole time.

  • so basically it just makes feedback... REALLY COOL GUYS.. not..

  • ofc it just makes feedback... thats what sustain is all about! and yes it is COOL you can do very nice things with it but this movie is just FAIL ...

  • Isn't this a bit like cheating at the guitar?

  • is distortion cheating? this is just a new invention just like overdrive was back in the old days.

  • just as much as foot pedals are, i dont think so

  • Fernandes sustainer kit goes with instalation manual.

If you are unexperienced with circuit wires, soldering

conections, reading scematics or using carpender tools

(freza, driller etc.) you better go to lutier.(recomended):)

  • Does anyone know HOW to install one of these? I need some help with mine :(

  • just take it to a luthier if you can't do it yourself

  • Does anyone know HOW to install one of these? I need some help with mine :(

  • That's amazing. More!

  • WHAT GUITAR IS THAT?!?!??!

  • Is this the dragonfly by fernandes

  • they are made in Japan or Korea I believe. I got one of their lower end models for about $400, it is pretty good quality and worth the price.

  • fernandes guitars too expensive i think, anyone know where they are made, better be usa but i doubt it

  • what would b Fernandes sustainer?? a pickup or a external hardware like a pedal...

  • Its an actual pickup. When u buy the sustainer, it comes with a humbucker pickup, which picks up the sounds, and a driver single coil that vibrates the strings. That driver goes where the neck pickup goes. It doesnt matter if its a single or a humbucker.

  • thats awesomeee

  • mad . i want one
