A muslim marriage is accomplished with a Niquah ceremoney whereby the would be husband & wife are asked in the presence of witnesses if they accept each other of their free will. If however the woman does not know the man she is going to marry and says yes, that is haram. Dating with sincerity and honesty is not Haram. My 3 daughters each married the man they loved are living a very happy family life while giving me 4 beautiful grandchildren.

These were collected long time after prophet's death, which leaves it open to contradictions and false information, so Muslim scholars over the years had developed a method of checking out authenticity of the hadiths by identifiying the chain of speakers and their reliability. But despite that, hadith books are still not 100% authentic as proved by contradictory hadiths about aisha's age

So even if we believe the Hadiths claiming she was young, she must have at least reached her puberty (not uncommon in warm countries) and was intellectually able to handle it (not unlikely, given her contribution to hadith history)

Why is it not MORE likely that the two weak Hadiths were mistakes? Isn't because you know how damaging the SAHEEH ones are to jIZZlam?

But Qur'an was given the book form under strict supervision of Uthman (raa), one of the closest people to Muhammad, only 15-20 yrs after prophet's death. Plus contents speak for itself. If the whole Qur'an and majority of the hadiths speak in one tone, and say 5% of the hadiths speak in a different tone, it's more logical to doubt those few hadiths.

So since the scores of Hadith point to the fact that Aisha was 6 years old when Mohammad married her and 9 when he consummated the marriage, then what we can gather is that 6 years old is an acceptable age for marriage according to Mohammad. Furthermore, the Ahadith are in fact more authentic than the Quran!

@bagh98 Bukhari spent DECADES compiling the Hadiths and insisted on SEVERAL narrations (over a 100) in order to verify a Hadith as Saheeh, where as Abu Bakr asked for narrations from only TWO different people for each Aya and spent only TWO years working on the Quran. Mohammad didn't even bother to compile the Quran into a book himself because he didn't even care about it, that was just the excuse for him to acquire bounty and booty.

@BigHater007: Most authentic Hadiths are compatible with Qur'an, but problem occurs when scholars accept the few ones that aren't. They think that just coz the chain of narration suggests they're authentic, they must be authentic.. they don't pay attention to the contents of those Hadiths, whether they're compatible with Qur'an n other similar Hadiths.The supposed torchbearers of Islam mostly are just not educated enough. But good that the knowedgable ones are slowly coming out with real Islam.

And just so you know, the so-called leaders of Islam are NOT the real representatives of Islam. A muslim marriage is accomplished with a Niquah ceremoney whereby the would be husband & wife are asked in the presence of witnesses if they accept each other of their free will. If however the woman does not know the man she is going to marry and says yes, that is haram. Dating with sincerity and honesty is not Haram. My 3 daughters each married the man they loved are living a very happy family life while giving me 4 beautiful grandchildren.

@thedisbatcher: If you've done ur research, then you'd know that Hadiths, unlike Qur'an, are not infalliable. These were collected long time after prophet's death, which leaves it open to contradictions and false information, so Muslim scholars over the years had developed a method of checking out authenticity of the hadiths by identifiying the chain of speakers and their reliability. But despite that, hadith books are still not 100% authentic as proved by contradictory hadiths about aisha's age

@thedisbatcher: and the established ruling on marriage in Islam is that he/she needs be intellectually and physically mature for understanding what's going on, and in no way will the prophet and his companion Abu Bakr (Aisha's father) would do anything against Islam. So even if we believe the Hadiths claiming she was young, she must have at least reached her puberty (not uncommon in warm countries) and was intellectually able to handle it (not unlikely, given her contribution to hadith history)

This indicates that only when a person is mature enough to deal the financial aspects of their life, should they get married. Hadiths, no matter how SAHEEH the chain of narration suggests they are, cannot overrule a Qur'anic law because it's improbable to think that Muhammad (pbuh), being a prophet, had gone against the Qur'an.

@L00KWITHIN: Hadiths were complied authoritatively about 150-200 yrs after the prophet (pbuh), his companions n 4-5 generations passed away. But Qur'an was given the book form under strict supervision of Uthman (raa), one of the closest people to Muhammad, only 15-20 yrs after prophet's death. Plus contents speak for itself. If the whole Qur'an and majority of the hadiths speak in one tone, and say 5% of the hadiths speak in a different tone, it's more logical to doubt those few hadiths.

@bagh98 You must have misunderstood me, or maybe you have trouble reading. The Aya you quoted does not mention any specific age. So since the scores of Hadith point to the fact that Aisha was 6 years old when Mohammad married her and 9 when he consummated the marriage, then what we can gather is that 6 years old is an acceptable age for marriage according to Mohammad. Furthermore, the Ahadith are in fact more authentic than the Quran!

@bagh98 Bukhari spent DECADES compiling the Hadiths and insisted on SEVERAL narrations (over a 100) in order to verify a Hadith as Saheeh, where as Abu Bakr asked for narrations from only TWO different people for each Aya and spent only TWO years working on the Quran. Mohammad didn't even bother to compile the Quran into a book himself because he didn't even care about it, that was just the excuse for him to acquire bounty and booty.

So what you call in your system 'friends', in our case it is more than 'friends' as the women/girls I personally know (whether related or non-related) have rights over me to protect them. The only thing Islam's against is pointless interaction between a girl and a boy so to protect them from temptation.

They think that just coz the chain of narration suggests they're authentic, they must be authentic.. they don't pay attention to the contents of those Hadiths, whether they're compatible with Qur'an n other similar Hadiths.The supposed torchbearers of Islam mostly are just not educated enough.
