This is the best R-Type I played. These close moments where you have to squeeze, dodge a bullet are awesome. Fantastic level design, lovely soundtrack and tense immersive gameplay. thank you Irem.

just downloaded it via PSP, cant beat the 3rd stage, the 2nd was hard enough :P ill get there eventually, im sure :) great game but it is hard. even with a huge update, difficuly never changed.

I think this could be the greatest piece of music ever in a game. I managed to get hold of the full mp3's for both the above water and underwater variants, and the above water version in particular is fantastic. Whoever did the music for this game should get a medal.

Ah, this game is particularly good, especially this stage. Its my fave cos of the lay-out, and the rather cool touches like when a missile fires over the water, it ripples, and the music changes as you dip in and out of the water. Interesting boss too. Nice.
