  • Just wanted to say I've been watching this vid numerous times for a long time. I used to have an 84 XtraCab (blue) myself, just not as impressive :D

I say "used to" because I wanted a 4Runner so I did some surgery...

But man this movie with Seven Nation Army is sick! I downloaded the song after I watched this and played while doing light wheeling up in Stonyford, CA.

  • Wat song is this?

  • 7nation army by the white stripes

  • VERY COOL VIDEO!!!

  • great trucks!!! great videos!!! Keep pushing the edges of off roading and making us all better. To all all of the bench racing haters out there,. get off your butt and go drive!!! Stop telling everyone else how to drive off road when your civic cant make it up the driveway....

  • I have two of the old yotas and they are the best I have ever owned. Let a little air out of the tires and they will grab better on edges like that.

  • I know that :) I needed to drive it back to town, and I had no way of airing up the tires afterwards.

  • i wanna get a 89 4runner and put a small lift on it what companies you suggest? this will be my first wheeler

  • I suggest Blueyfab[dot]com :)

  • dude lockers would get you up that. do you have lockers. and boggers dont look like they are better for traction lol but i don't know

  • Watch closely...its locked front and rear. And I live in FL I need those boggers just to get to those places.

  • Good%20%26%25%23

  • i gotta set of bfg all terrains on my truck 33x12.5 are those bogger better for traction

  • where is this located in magalia ca area

  • That cars shiT!

  • @jamesblonde32 car is awesome wat u got a shitty little land rover tat cant drive down a dirt road without something breaking

  • i gotta find one of these but every one thinks they are worth 5grand

  • dude thats nice what size tires are they?

  • 16/35-15 Boggers

  • @TheAdioman126 16/35-15

  • absolutely love the truck. very nice

  • your truck pretty much owns man. i have a 79 but need a carb so i can get going ahah

  • is it a 4 0r 6 cylinder?..nice vid

  • 4CYL

  • ohh..how much did you purchase this truck?

  • I bought the truck for $500

    I built the rest :)

  • ohh i c ,,you did good building the rest

  • Thanks!

  • nice dude, buuutt... cut the end off her and you'll bee better off. im from new zealand and we love our hiluxs. rip your rear tray off and cut the chassis back till it hangs only 300mm out from the shocks and then weld up a bit a tube steel into a roll cage and some 3mm box section steel for a deck and you'l go anyware.

  • Stepping up to a slightly taller gear can help get more power to the wheels. It can also be used to correct the final drive ratio when installing larger than stock tires. I would suggest a rear locker first. and if you do get a front I would suggest a selectable locker like the ARB air locker.

  • well, i thought re-gearing was only to compensate for added tire size.. would you gear lower even without changing the tire? Also, for climbing and such, is it better to get a locker for the front or rear first? thanks for the help!

  • i have a stock '93 22re, where would you suggest modifying first?

I'm in florida too... was the "Staircase" in florida as well?

I mostly see mud around north fl. where i'm at....this seems fun too!

  • If you are going to wheel the truck I would suggest gears first. that spot is in FL. Be sure to check out FATTshack[dot]com for more info on it

  • I see you have along the best backup of all!! The beer cooler s0n! Who0o0o0o!! :-D

  • I love your Yota, man ! Its the truck of my dreams [literally] I want to do those mods on mine, but i dont know.. How much did you spent on the mods for yours?

  • I wouldn't know where to start. I imagine over $18,000 easy cost of truck 500 wheels/ tires 2000+ suspension 1500+ engine 5500+ transmission rebuild 500+ Crawl box 700+ transfer case rebuild 100+ drive shaftes 500+ front axle mods 3000+ rear axle mods 1000+ compressor 500+ bumpers and sliders 600+ hydro steer 500+ misc. ?
  • and thats with doing all the work myself.

  • Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck ! Damn dude, thats alot ! I bet its all worth it though, no?

  • If I had more... I would spend more! :)

  • Lol, i bet. Dude, i just went to your site and noticed your from Florida.. Why cant you be here in LA, damn it!?

  • what size lift and tires do you have on your truck? and what kind of engine does it have? your truck owns

  • Thanks! 16/35-15 boggers on 15x14 steelies. 5" TG front and 5" TG rear w/ 3" BL

  • the song is The white stripes - seven nation army

nice little machine u got there

  • Whats the song??

  • sweet thanks

  • what kind of waterproofing? I am buying a 87 with a rebuilt 22r. I want to take it mudding and wheeling, so I would like to know what to do to make it possible without killing my truck

  • get or make a snorkel, silicone the distributor, put the ecm in either a plastic container or put it in a ammo box. check the AFM and make sure the cover is sealed.get an electric fan you can turn off before going through deep water. be suer to relocate the breathers for the differentials, and make sure the tranny and transfer case are sealed. after that its just proper driving technique

  • hey man, i know you are a toyota enthusiast, and i am about to buy an 85 model with a carbeurated 22r. it has no powersteering, but its a great truck. dude wants 1500 for it. it only has a few little dents in the front driver side fender. my question is, how are the ones without power steering off road??

  • you definitly want pawer steering. I went as far as getting "Hydro asist"

    blueyfab.c0m/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=B&Category_Code=RSK-130

  • okay, thanks man. i dont plan to do anything like you do, i just need the 4x4 for the area i live and the work i do. i am working for a logging crew right now, and the trails are muddy, but nothing too bad.

  • if you were to buy a holix, i would get a diesel. yes they're slower, but much more reliable and stronger. and as for water, jeez. all u have to do is piss on the 22r and it will stop.

  • We were never offered the diesel version here... :(

Just do some basic waterproofing and you wil be fine.

  • You can find powersteering pumps and steering boxes on other model yota's that will bolt right to yours.

  • thanks for the advice guys, but i dont own the truck. dude sold it right out from under me.

  • What kind of engine mods have you done? Anything to give you enough power up those hills with such fat tires.

  • It's mostly in the gears. In this video the truck only had the 5.29's and detroit lockers on a fairly stock motor. since then it has gotten an LC Engineering 2.6l Pro Stroker EFI, Dual 2.28:1 T-cases and some other goodies. :)

  • Wow man, that is pretty Badass.

  • My up top comment was supposed to be down here, anyway. Its cool that you actually answer ppl's questions. I'm gonna suscribe and check out the rest of your vids.

  • Thanks... we are supposed to have new ones soon... maybe You Tube won't delete them on me like about 5 other ones :)

  • Do you have a cardomain page?

  • who cares what a jeep can do people got prefferences and i prefer the reliability, gas mileage and capability of a toyota over any jeep. very good video that thing is probably unstoppable aired down. btw this looks like florida is it hard rock

  • its a 5 speed :)

  • Is this an auto or Stick and nice work shit really climbs pretty mint

  • MARLIN CRAWLER FOR LIFE BRO!

  • Thank you captian obvious. maybe you should read some of the replies....

  • I don't see what is so hard about the beginning shot? Is it because your tires are too wide and can't get proper traction? Airing down would help but only because it would allow your tire to conform to the surface better.

  • you were lucky you didnt brake your cardan-shaft at the end

  • what the name of the song?

  • the white stripes - seven nation army

  • Hey fattshack, I don't wanna tell you how to run your rig but if you air down your tires you might get around a bit better. It makes a huge difference. those tires will grab on and stick a whole lot better.

  • yeah, I knew that, but my onboar air wasn't working and I had a 30 minute drive home afterwards. did't want to drive home on 12lbs.

  • sorry i don't know much about off roading but what's the thing on the left side of the window on 0:48?

  • its a snorkel.

  • Yo where is this. I live in PA and the only good spot apparently is Rauch park.
