auto?? Haha figures.... Whats up with senior citizens and automatics?? They grew up during the best era for automobiles late 50s-70's, also known as the muscle car era... Now obviously there were automatics back then, but the majority drove stick or at least knew how.. I guess the older you get it becomes more about convenience, but at the same time I personally feel Im in more control of the vehicle when driving a manual vehicle because I can downshift to help slow down or vice versa.. sigh...

except a impossibly fast shifting autotranny with paddle shifters that allow you to ACTUALLY get all the performance out of a car instead of just wondering how much faster it would be if you could only shift faster. MTs are outdated, outmodded and just plain useless to current performance driving.

This is true to an extent. Not every automaker has perfected the AT to a point to where it shifts faster than manual..but it is getting to a point where a few of manufactures have done just that. Give it some time and AT will be, hands down, the fastest gear changer.
