@mba2ceo You have interesting ideas about this. So you think that if you take two men - one single, one married, and they are similar in most every other way (appearance, money, personality, ...) that the single man will have higher expectations of the woman than will the married man? If so, why?

It is very simple. People cheat because they want to. Temptation, Fullfillment and Excitement. I know because I am a 30 year retired cheater with a 401K and IRA.

@aungfa1 i also had a fling with my ex because boredom in marriage but wasnt the same any longer, i felt quilty ,ending up i told my husband what i did and guess what? he also told me he had an affair. blow to me! so now we are having trouble dealing with our infidelities. now what do we do tosave our marriage?

@TheYubsu I know the one thing you shouldnt have done...never tell your man about who you've slept with...i got caught up in that situation and i will never again....i told him i had cheated on him,it was a one night stand...i found out months later he was cheating on me our whole entire four years we been together...if the man or woman is not god fearing, anything goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!! There are no rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything is possible!!

I think a lot of it has to do with boredom and growing apart. But what if they do recognize it and continue to try to fill the void with another to fulfill perhaps a fantasy? I also believe that when we marry with the intentions of staying with someone forever, come 20 years later we realize it's not what we really expected and want something different. At that point that's when there needs to be the recognition to fix it or end it!!! 9 out of 10 married men will NEVER leave their wife!

Simple: because they know the guy who they're having an affair with is not a sucker for them...it's the other way around, women are suckers for the guys they want to have an affair with.

Married man is the nice guy that will give them a stable life, affair man is the bad boy who willl give them adventure.

Simple dude, don't make a big deal out of this issue.

@TheFourFactors Nope, your girlfriend whom you buy dresses, roses and jewelry for and whom you give all your love (financially and emotionally) might also decide to have an affair with a jerk who doesn't even love her as much as you do. As for why women potentially sell themselves short and stay with married men...quite simply, it's because in their minds, those guys are the "alpha males". Chicks deep down love guys who are loved by another/other women.

Thanks for the comment. Over the course of the relationship that probably happens from time to time. But the key is to recognize this and know that it likely is temporary and will pass.
