Very nice altered journals. Do you remember which pack the owl came with? I thought for a sec it was a stamp...it is very pretty, so now I want the paper!
@TrishtheIrishWitch Thank you so much! The owl paper came from the Garden Vignettes by My Minds Eye. It is an older stack but so pretty. All the papers are black and white and they are glittered. HTH! Thanks so much for watching.
While it's not typically the style journal I choose to make and work with, I am in fact putting together my first composition notebook journal for an art journaling group/project I'm in, so I'm trying to decide how to make my cover(s)... The ones you've done here are beautiful, and I will definitely keep your inspiring creations and ideas in mind!! TFS!! ~tina
@Szippy6 Yes, I can show it but I need to wait until closer to the release of Breaking Dawn. I started it 2 years ago and never finished it because I didn't like the cover. I made it for my sister who is crazy for all things Twilight. It is a surprise for her so I don't want to post it yet. Watch for it coming soon! Thanks for your interest!
@Dsscrapie I am soooo sorry i looked thru your videos and I must have missed it!! i will find it now though!! thanks so much, if you're interested I have a ning site and we always have some sort of twilight swap going on you should stop by and check us out (theres tons of other non twilight swaps too lol) minialbumscraps.ning.com
I love your work!! Very creative. I have a question.....I have an idea to cover some comp books for our women's ministry at church with using our women's ministry logo on it. What kind of paper to you recommend for me to use to print the logo on? The name of our ministry is Diamonds and Pearls. I am looking forward to having a lot of fun with that, Do you have any suggestions.. Thhank you
@debra3000 I would print it up on card stock and maybe mount it on chipboard. Without seeing the Logo it is hard to say, but because of the name you could have a lot of fun with the pearl flourishes and the diamond rhinestones. You could really make it fancy or keep it simple and still use the flourishes and rhinestones. You could add some pretty flowers also. This one sounds like it could be fun!
The composition book is 9 3/4 by 7 1/2. I have never had too many problems covering the binding. I don't cover it very often, but when I do I use a heavy paper and make sure my glue is not too wet. I use a permanent glue stick. I have tried Mod Podge but it is too wet and messy. When I lay it down I use a brayer to smooth it out and work from the center out. Sometimes I sand and paint the binding a color to match as in the "time" journal. Hope that helps. Thanks for your sweet comments.
WOW...awesome altered books..you did a WONDERFUL job doing these..you are very very talented..I love them all and have favorited this video so that I can come back and watch them AGAIN and AGAIN! These are just so great and anyone would be pleased to receive as a gift. Thanks so much for sharing!!
@TheMoparlvr Thanks so much for your sweet comments. I am flattered you favored it. I have a couple more styles I didn't show in the video on an etsy site. The link is below the video. I will have more styles in the future on the etsy. TFW
Lovely use of papers and flowers (or I guess sticky back canvas!). Nice details, I have to try this. The baby journal is a great idea! They are all just great! Love the "time" journal. How did you cover your bindings without having the paper bubble? That is always my problem! Oh, and what size is the composition book? TFS, Brigitte
