It would have been trivial to design devices, like phones and cars, to not be tracking devices, but that doesn't fit the corporate agenda. And I don't believe people are willingly making the trade off of giving up info., but that they can't avoid it and have no choice in the matter. Myself, I doubt that the benefits of eliminating my privacy will accrue to me.
