anybody have J2K.....he produced like the whole thing, and I lost my copy and can't find it anywhere......really want to hear "save me a seat" its Fiyah!
Yeah! The jam... Been followin' Trell since he was with Commissioned... Just one CD, "Irreplacable Love". Had the chance to hang out in the studio with this brother.
I remember when "Chronicles of the Soul" dropped back in like 97 or 98. It was just what I wanted to hear from gospel music!!! I'm tryin to go in this direction with my own stuff now... the world needs this kind of music: the message with the flavor!!!
It was 99 when it came out, I hade the CD from u when u pick 12 free CDs then they make u start buying them... Loved that CD dont know what happen to it... "Oh what a friend" was my favorite song...
I was so angry when the Irreplaceable album By Commissioned came out because Fred wasn't there any more. I heard Montrel sing and didn't like it, again, because he wasn't Fred. But when I took a real listen, I loved him. When I heard he was coming out with a solo album, I immediately went out and baught it. Though this isn't one of my favorite songs.
I too listen to this CD very often...It was waaaay ahead of it's time (and still is...) 'Trell is mad talented..Writing, producing, arranging (have you head his production on Image's project..). The fact of the matter is he is still young and I'm praying that the Lord gives him at least another 50 years in the industry. The Commissioned cast with Karl Reid, Mitchell Jones, Marcus Cole and Montrell was the absolute best vocally..It is a shame that they didn't put a project put.
This album was crazy... Dude's a gifted individual. I remember when it came out. I was bumpin' this in the ride...and the great thing about it is I was bumpin' spiritual music! Do what you do my brother!
Montrell is one of the more underated gospel singers out there. Been a fan since the John p kee days. By the way, without him singing on the " Irreplaceble " album by Commissioned. It would not have been what it was.
His singing was immeasurably incalculable on that project.. The only thing that stands out more (and surely boosted sales) was his writing on that project. He made the hits..His work on the Verity The Real Meaning of Christmas project was the whip too. I have one recording with him (that I taped off of a cable show) with Commissioned just before he left and just after Marcus Cole came in...They ripped it. His addition to Commissioned really took them to the next level vocally.
I too lost this CD, but managed to get another copy at my,local-chain, Christrian book store on the $5.99,$8.99, etc. rack. Needless to say, I'm treating this copy like Gold. I pray MOntrel comes out with something else. Come on man...Help a brother out :)
Imma slap Montrell for not coming out with a visible project. And for letting people give Tonex praise he should get for being a true Neo-soul worship artist.
What happened to him? My brother-in-law introduced to him years ago and I just thought about this song.
