the foo fighters are one of my favorite bands by far , their first album was amazing , and this album was awsome too for a follow up , i dont think they get as much credit as they deserve , dave grohl is one of the most talented artists of his time no doubt about it , he rocks on the drums , guitar , vocals and even the piano :P lol

I waas thinking the same myself the other day about most of the album. listening to their back catalogue there seemed to be a slight change in the style of songs post colour and the shape. dunno of its something to do with dave recruiting a drummer reater than playing drums himself. maybe that led him to focus more on vocals.

if you dig the loud ass screaming foos(i sure as shit do), you should totally check out the 95 self-titled debut. besides one guitar part on the song called "x-static" dave recorded every part of that cd himself. it's so damn good too. dave did all that himself and then the band was formed around that cd, so to speak. for me it's a tie between "good grief" and "x-static" for best song on that cd
