I think you forgot to mention one very important detail. If you're using DHCP otherwise known as Dynamic IP addressing, then this will not work. You need a unique static IP address.

I'm pretty sure it would be the same as in the Windows version of CuteFTP. If you're having trouble with that program, I would recommend using a program called Fugu (for Mac). It works great.

What opens and closes in .5 seconds? CuteFTP (or Filezilla or whatever it is you're using) or the NES program in your iPhone/iPod?

You can't play the Genesis or PSX games in the NES app, you have to download another application for that.

Apparently the NES application doesn't work on the new iPhone or iPod touch firmware. The author of that app released a newer version which works on Firmware 3.0 called "NES 3", but it costs about $5 (USD)... I don't know if anyone will be making a free app to play NES games, but for now, you have to either downgrade the iPhone/iPod touch version, buy the new NES 3, or wait to see what happens. Sorry about that :S

Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on in your iPod/iPhone. Also check that your iPod/iPhone doesn't go to sleep. Check whether the username, password, and address are correct.

You need to jailbreak it first. Try googling QuickPwn (for both Windows and Mac), that's a program that easily jailbreaks your iPod. Add Cydia instead of Installer, it's better.

Ok, I changed the link to one that works, tell me if you have any more problems. Another program you can use is called FileZilla, it asks for the same information as CuteFTP (IP Address, user name, password), but FileZilla asks for a "Port". The Port is 22. Use whichever program you want.

well to get the "installer" you have to jailbrake your ipod touch. i used a program called ziphone that worked great for me but you can type in google"jailbrake ipod touch"and click on the first link and go from there i hope this helped you.

There is also a program called "QuickPwn" which works nicely. You can install the Installer with versions that came before 1.1.5, and there will be a lot of open-source applications available. If you install using any version after 1.1.5, there won't be as many applications in the Installer, but you'll have the Apple AppStore, and if you search, you may be able to find ways to crack these AppStore Applications to get them for free. Just note that downloading cracked AppStr. games/apps is illegal

by right clicking and again add new folder and call it NES all capitals. remove the iphone usb again and plug it back in to have the NES folder visible open it and drag your NES rom inside thats it now load up you NES emulator on your iphone and instead of teh error message you will now see an be able to play your NES ROMs.

I loaded ROMs onto my 3G iphone version 2.0.2 without using FTP or any WIFI connection. what i used was iphonebrowser (google it for the quick download) run thee program with iphone connected via usb select the private folder then var folder then mobile then media then right click on media and select add new folder and name it ROMs (exactly as it is here) you then need to unplug the iphone usb and plug in again to have the new ROMs folder visable select that folder (continues on next post)

For iPhone/iPod touch 2.0, the user name and password are both the same (root/alpine). The directory where you put the ROMs is also the same. Just remember to download OpenSSH from Cydia (or Installer). If you don't have Cydia on your iPod, google winpwn (if you're using windows). Download it and click on the link on that page that tells you how to "Pwn" your iPhone/iPod. The first link is the winpwn site, and below that are some videos that explain how to Pwn your iPhone/iPod

You need to jailbreak your iPod touch. Search on google or youtube to find out how to do that. I recommend that you search in youtube first, because that way you can see how the other person "jailbreaks" his iPod.

What I tell you to do in the video and what I've told most people in the comments. If it doesn't work the first time, just keep trying. Make sure that the iPod / iPhone is not off or in sleep. Check that your firewall isn't blocking CuteFTP. Make sure you've installed BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH. If it still doesn't work yet, try another program, like Filezilla.

It sometimes doesn't work the first time, just keep double clicking on the left side, where there is an iPod icon to connect to your iPod, it should work after a while. Make sure your firewall isn't blocking CuteFTP. Make sure your iPod / iPhone isn't turned off and that it isn't in sleep mode.

Remove all the "" when naming the folders. Open the / folder (that's what it's called, just /), once there, open the folder called "var". Inside "var", there should be a folder called "mobile", open it. Inside "mobile", there should be a folder called "Media", if not, right click, select New Folder, and type in "Media". Open "Media" and right click, select New Folder, and create a folder called "ROMs", open it. Inside "ROMs", create one last folder called "NES", and put the games inside.

It should appear on the left hand corner, just remember to select the yellow "Site Manager" tab and not the blue "Local Drives" tab. To configure your iPod just click on File -> New -> SFTP (SSH2 Site). On label, you should put the name you want the connection to have (that name will appear on the left side). IP address on Host Address, user is root, password is alpine. Password is dottie if you have 1.0.1 or 1.0.2

If anything happens to your iPod, just connect to iTunes and click on "Restore", everything will be deleted, but everything will end up working fine. There is no risk in this, as far as I know.

On the Address Bar, type in /var/mobile/ and check if there is a Media folder, if not, create it. Open it and create a folder called ROMs, and open that and create a folder called NES
