I hate it when people talk crap about how expensive it is to waste tax payer money on the Secret Service to protect the President of the United States. If they were the president, they would want the protection also. I don't mind my tax money being spent on the Secret Service because I would like to be protected also if I was the president.

@davtra Nope, not rubbish. The ambulance carries everything that could possibly be done in an emergency, including plasma for the President. This practice started after the Reagan assassination attempt, when the Secret Service barely made it to the hospital emergency room in time to save his life. Since then, every presidential motorcade has a mobile 'hospital' so to speak. :-)

you know whats funny about some Americans? They talk major crap about the president behind their computers and TVs, however when they are present in events like this; (obama/any past president being escorted to a meeting, etc) they dont talk one little trash about it because of how powerful a leader can be. No matter what happens, the president is the president. He represents us rather than we represent our humility.

I totally agree with you 100%. People will talk trash about any president behind their backs on the computers and stuff, but if they see him in person its like they're his biggest fan. Then, after they meet him and say they like him and stuff its back home to talking trash about him then. My philosophy is if you don't like him, don't pretend to whenever you see him in stuff like this or would have the chance to meet him.

You can be an opponent but not an enemy. It's a simple matter of respect. I disagree with many of the president's policies, but I would still be honored to meet him. He's the president of the United States, and I respect him. If he asked me in person what I thought of his policies I'd tell him the truth, but otherwise I wouldn't bring it up. That's not pretending. I won't vote for him because I disagree with him, but that doesn't mean I hate the guy.

@InfectedBeats How many vehicles assigned to the motorcade has nothing to do with President Obama's choice. The Secret Service establishes the protocol, based on who must accompany. All the white vans are Press Corp who go everywhere with the President (at their own expense).There is generally not more then 2 sedans for Staff (depending on how many are needed). The local Police determine how many vehicles they want to be a part of it.

If this was shot on 50th St. between 3rd & 2nd, implies to me the starting point of this motorcade was likely the Waldorf Astoria Hotel where many diplomats stay during UN General Assy. opening week. Intrigues me that the 2006-style "Cadillac DTS" Presidential limos still being used more than the Escalade-evoking 2009 debuted at the Inaugural. Quite a bit of time elapsed, apparently, before GM delivered a second one for backup & decoy, which is starting to pop up in other Obamacade videos.
