    THANKS GUYS

  • Is it possible to just use the chicken breasts?

  • @ktqueen yeah why not! The marinade is still great. Although cooking chicken on the bone has a lot more flavour!

  • @sortedfood I know, I just don’t like it. Thanks for replying :)

  • Those chips look so yummy!

  • 0:44 Tesco oil! Gross! You should be using Waitrose ingredients for deffs! ;)

  • Nearly vommed when you were yanking the bone out but recovered when I saw the finished yummyness.

  • Hey @Sortedfood can you buy chicken pre spatchcocked? It looks hard to do

  • @jonnydc1 if you ask your local butcher then I'm sure he or she will be able to help! :D

  • or...you could go to nandos and have a good time.

  • what can i use instead of vinegar because i HATE vinegar

  • hah wood plate ? dont do this when you invite a young lady over for dinner ok lol

  • This is NOT how to make Nandos chicken, even the sauce isn't right in this video. You HAVE to use Nandos own sauce which they sell

  • @jamesdavid3 It's a recipe for 'chicken like Nando's' What would be the point in buying the sauce if this show is supposed to show you how easy it is from scratch.

  • Wow.. That looks... Mmmm yummy....

  • Have Mike and Jon left Sorted or something?

  • @4meisu Nope, not at all... in fact they'll be back in the New Year!

  • Can i use chicken breasts instead of getting a whole chichen?

  • @erwmommy Yep, no problem!

  • @sortedfood how long do you cook the chicken breasts in the oven? x

  • @Kimii64 20minutes at 220 degrees should be perfect... give or take 5 minutes each way depending how big the breasts are! Always cut into the chicken before serving to check it's cooked (juices should run clear) :-D

  • @sortedfood

Can i use white vinegar instead of wine, because i don't drink alcohol (I'm muslim)

  • @alasub118 he uses red wine vinegar, not red wine, and red wine vinegar isnt alcoholic :D

  • Hello

I am your friend from Saudi Arabia and I have the honor you because you like the programs aimed at youth and yours a wonderful and I hope you luck friend Abu Omar

  • What is that adorable little blender you've got there? I don't have a lot of space in my kitchen, and that looks like it's small but gets the job done! :)

  • I remember telling my flatmates that I'd never been to Nando's. They thought I was crazy and wondered why I hadn't been.

Well, I've had great chicken piri piri in Portugal, and I don't know if Nando's can top what I had :)

  • could you do a beef chow mein recipe and egg fried rice? thanks xx

  • do mango desert please! mango is my fav fruit!!

  • can i just buy and marinate the chicken with nando's piri-piri sauce instead of making my own one?

  • @presa1200 Where's the fun in that?! :-P

  • @sortedfood agreed!

  • Just cooked this at uni and I let the chicken marinate over night which made it taste absolutely amazing! Thanks sortedfood, lots of love from Canada :) x

  • oh wow, that's so simple! :] totally gonna try this but will divide it up for the family. now i can prove to them that i can cook and don't have to be stuck washing dishes every holiday.

  • could i use other meat like beef? :)

  • lol it sounds like he's saying poo poo chicken

  • Does anyone know if I could use a pre-cut breast or basically not the whole chicken. Great vid guys

  • @2Noobsunited Of course, you might just want to lose less sauce if there's less chicken!

  • @2Noobsunited i used chicken fillets, marinated in nando's piri-piri sauce and coated with batter (cornflour, dried parsley & basil, pepper, salt). it turned out very well

  • made this for my girlfriend last night- went down very wel :) thanks guys

  • The way you make Nandos chicken is you dont marinate over nite or dont need to marinate at all!!!! All you need to do is Brush some nandos sauce on the chicken 3 or 4 min before it is finished on the grill or bbq however your making it!! At nandos you will see this aswel, they dont marinate at all but just brush on the sauce 3 or 4 min before the chicken is cooked and then your chicken will taste exactly like nandos!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tunnionline They're doing their own take on Nando's chicken.

  • "proper squeeze". Gay.

  • this looks fun to make! wish i wasn't a vegetarian sometimes!

  • in ur face veggie!

  • Is it fine to use white cooking wine from food stores or does one have to buy red wine from liquar store?

    please respond.Thanks

  • can please list all the incrdials ?

    please

  • The black shirt guy and the grey t-shirt guy are so hot... who are they?

  • anything to substitute red wine with? non alcoholic subs

  • Im going to do this with quorn because I'm a vegetarian. F*** you peri-peri purists...

  • "all the vegetarians are going to hate us" thats not true, I love you guys :)

  • Sorry dudies, epic fail on this one. You won't get any peri-peri taste in the meat itself as you never applied any there, and the colour of the marinade is all wrong. I'm from South Africa where Nandos was founded.

  • NANDOS IS NOT REALLY GOOD COPY CAT FROM EL POLLO LOCO

  • i am going to try this now...

  • Lawl.

"Are you a chef slash vet or something?"

"All the vegetarians are going to hate us..."

    xD

  • MC LOVIN cooks!

  • Cheers, Sorted team :) You make me less worried I'm going to starve/live off toast when I move to uni in a couple of weeks XD

  • fuuuuuck you made me goto nandos now....dont have time and patience to cook this

  • I love Nandos! I think I'll show my parents this :) thanks!

  • thanks alot guys cooked 2 whole chickens and the results were amazing i advise to other people let the chicken get charred a bit it tastes more better

  • Definitely a great recipe! My boyfriend and I were in Portugal and weren't able to get piri piri chicken, so it was cool to be able to make it at home! For anyone who decides to cut the peppers by hand, make sure you wear cooking gloves!!

  • you can use this recipe or you can just buy the nandos marinade and sauce from tesco.. either way

  • How about the test, is it similar?

  • just found my new favourite channel! no-nonsense cooking and east explanations! awesome job guys!! instant subscribe! Cheers, from Denmark!

  • mmm... that looks yummy!

  • I'm a vegetarian and I hate you. Lol jk chicken is awesome.

  • piri piri? dont you mean peri peri?

  • @w0wftw8D no u retard "peri-peri" is just what nandos call it. go to portugal saying "peri-peri" and they will laugh at you

  • I'm a vegetarian and I don't hate you for what you did to that chicken Jon haha don't worry too much. In fact, I tend to make meat dishes for my family a lot. Bet you haven't heard of a vegetarian sticking her hand up a chicken, have you? (Made chicken with 40 cloves of garlic for Mother's Day, as requested by my mom).

  • I'm a griller at nandos the baste you get in the shops or from the condiment unit is different to that which comes on the chicken served from the grill

  • Do you really need to use that much oil? (160ml?) I've just finished cooking mine and I've drained a hell of a load of it off - almost half a mug.

I liked it and the marinade smelt excellent prior to cooking (and during the 24 hours it was marinading in my fridge) although I found that once cooked it just kind of burnt on and the flavour of the marinade was lost, just tasted like a salty roast chicken really...but nice all the same.

Might taste more genuine part-roasted, part grilled.

  • What can I use instead of chilli?

  • I heard from women's magazines about "engagement chicken," which is supposed to somehow hurry up the boyfriend-proposing-process. I would like this! It would be cool to see you guys make it, and maybe with a nice creative side. Thanks, Julie

  • FUCK YEAH THAT LOOK NICE

  • "Man, all the vegetarians are gonna HATE us" lolol

  • I thought it's Peri-Peri? O.o

  • thanks!!!

  • Can I replace the red wine vinegar with some chicken broth? Or maybe something else?

  • dont you mean peri peri chicken?

  • Man you guys are making me hungry :P

  • 2:58 - 3:09

    He's rubbing his cock.

  • i need to know, what is that mini blender thing? where did you get it?

  • How has he never been to Nandos? That's a tragedy!!

  • i love piri piri chicken and always wanted to know how its made thankyou!! ^_^

  • just for you all to have a look at. this guy is not trying to replicate nandos piri piri chicken, he is givin you an idea on how to make home-made piri piri chicken. i saw a comment about usin a jar of nandos marinade, if you want nandos tasting chicken ul have to go to nandos for it because iv tried the marinades and it doesnt taste the same, and sortedfood im gonna try this but i will marinade it over night thanks for the video

  • @badboyodee86 You hit the nail on the head there! This is our version... hope you like it... and the overnight marinading will help loads!

  • @sortedfood tried it, very nice

  • is that how you make the sauce they have out for dipping and stuff too or is that different?

  • forgot the butter... we use contradicting animal fat to drive the grease off... but nice that you can still learn.. you are young. Your service looks like your grandmothers crotch.. that will pass.

  • the chicken needs to be placed down skin side up and basted with the lemon and lime peri peri basting for another 5 minutes, then finish when the chicken is golden brown and finally baste with your favourite peri sauce.

  • I used to work at nando's, the way they cook chicken, is that they get they come whole, and it's split open in a butterfly shape, so they cut it in a way that the spine acts as a hinge and is marinated for at least one day,

They then place it in the oven for a short period of time to half cook the chicken on a stainless steel rack with a water drip tray beneath it (only need a cup or two of water).

The chicken is then finished on the grill while basting it with lemon and lime peri sauce

  • @the4445 they cook the chicken through at nandos not half cook it would be unsafe do half cook a chicken then store it in them heated drawers before they bbq it, also the chickens are already marinated when they are delivered. i used to work in nandos about 6 years ago maybe if you worked there more recent they may have marinated in store but they certainly didnt when i worked there and they certainly never half cooked a chicken before storing it in a heated drawer

  • @badboyodee86 yes you're right! sorry it's been 2 years since i worked there, and i had only worked there for 15 months, and you're right.

It arrives marinated in the bags, in lots of 10, and we had to pull the wings and legs out of the sockets before placing them on the rack.

  • @the4445 lol yeah i forgot about pullin the wings and legs out, workin at nandos was pretty good fun for me specially break time

  • @badboyodee86 What wasn't fun was having the peri oil and sauce splash onto your skin when cooking the breasts and tenders on the flattop

  • I stuffed a chicken full the other day for a roast when my parents were over and my hand got stuck in the chicken, my girlfriend had to smash it open for me and almost broke my hand with the mallet. It was delicious, blood is the best marinade!!!

  • @noSoSolid2K i dont believe this for 1 second im a chef and if i say so myself iv got pretty big hands iv stuffed hundreds of birds and never got my hand stuck once, did u see this idea on tv or somethin and think it would be funny to put it as a comment on a youtube video? another thing is, if i got my own blood on anything i was cooking i wouldnt serve it to starving african children let alone my own parents

  • oh, and should've marinated it for an hour to really get the meat peri peri'd! but great vid anywho

  • @impamiizgraa You're dead right... or over night would be even better!

  • @sortedfood just for the record piri piri is african birds eye chilli

  • delicious but he's never been to nando's? That is a travesty. Get him over there now! It should be law that everyone must try nando's at least once... but it's hard to not go back so at least 5 times...

  • @Dahdahwahwahdah

Vinegar contains no alcohol. Not even red wine vinegar. Don't believe me? Look it up.

  • @Unanimous97 But is it actually made from red wine?

  • @amaanz All vinegars, including balsamic, white and red wine vinegars, had at one time, alcohol in them. The wine would have been left open to air to age and the alchol would evaporate, leaving behind a acidic sweet liquid.

  • Do you have to add the red wine vinegar? i'm quite young and i don't think that my mum would let me buy that :P

  • can you make this with just chicken breast instead of a whole chicken?

  • @lx3100 To try and replicate the Nandos theme we used the whole chicken. But of course the marinade works really well on any cut of chicken... or for that matter, with pork or tiger prawns too.

  • @lx3100 absolutely! I do the dame thing with a bone in skin on breast. "Sear" the skin of the breast in a frying pan(makes the skin nice and crispy) then cook in the oven like they did. If you prefer the skin not be crispy you just pop it in the oven like they did. The benefit of the breast only is that you can cook it in about 30 min.

  • @lx3100 if you want u could dice the chicken breast into cubes and marinate the cubes over night

then you can skewer the as kebebs for the bbq or the oven. Choppung them means they will quickly absorb alot of taste and they will taste great with a smaoky bbq taste

  • has he seriously never been to Nandos?

  • What about the lemon an garlic chicken from nandos?

  • I have to say that's not quite right!! They use coconut oil for the aroma and the sauce color should be redder than what you got in there..so i would put more capsicum and chillies indeed. This is authentic recipe and should be eaten like a real Nando's which is delicious!! For thos of you's who are scared of chillies, one tip, eating chillies often will keep your weight balanced and also put you in the mood for love making...try it guys:)

  • is there an alternative way of blending the piri piri ingrediants? because i dont own a blender or any other sort of electronic cutter

  • @RedWine006 It doesn't have to be blended at all - the traditional recipe is hundreds of years old and they wouldn't have had anything electric! ;) Just cut everything up really small and whisk together.

  • can i not use any wine?

  • Could you take the skin off before you cook it? Or put the marinade under the skin?

  • @soapydish Not replying as the original uploader or anything, but wouldn't the chicken end up being really dry? If you're concerned about fat content of the skin, you can simply take it off after cooking the chicken because calorie wise, it's still similar as taking the skin off pre-cooking (or so I've heard).

You should definitely stuff the marinade under the skin instead of taking the skin off.

  • @unetrolle As the original uploader ;) we'd agree with you there! Great answer! :D

  • You can buy Nando's piri piri sauces actually. So you could just skip out all of this and get it out of a jar.

  • @peachmelba73 You most definitely can! But where's the fun in that????

  • What other meats would this work well on?

  • @LinniPanda This is just the marinade... so i guess anything that you prefer. Damn tasty on pork too!

  • Good video ! But what's this shit no one using plates that cock Jamie Oliver is at it 2 the knob jockey

  • your show is so much better without that fat guy who messes about all the time!

  • JOHN HAS JUSTIN BIEBER HAIR

  • Would it be better to Marinate in the sauce over night?

  • @mcguss absolutely... if you can leave it in the marinade for up to two days. The longer the better! ;D

  • I like how he made the other guy do all the dirty work (ie taking out the bones and rubbing in the stuff) :3

  • I love your recipe's but I hate ginger. Make more stuff without ginger! lol

  • that is a weird ass plate

  • i used a medium sized chicken and saved half for lunch during the week

  • @megakila14 Winner!!! It'll beat everyone else's packed lunch hands down!

  • It's such a joy to see ben cooking. so cute:)

  • Wow. Just wow. This looks amazing, I'm going to make this sometime this week and save myself some pennies

  • This is great used with a chicken breast and put in a caesar salad!

  • i subbed after i watched nerimon i cant believe ive never seen you guys before on yt. Awesome vids :)

  • Could I put this on a grill instead of a oven?

  • @w4tf0rd Traditionally that is exactly how it would be done. Over hot coals. The challenge is making sure it's cooked right through without burning on the outside. Cooking in the oven is easier and safer, but the end result for grilling is likely to be better if done carefully. Just double check the thickest part of the bird to before eating.

  • ...or just use chicken breast.

  • Whoop! Thanks this is just what I needed, gunna spatchcock me a chicken tonight, I wonder though can you just use the Nando's marinade they sell in supermarkets? Though I think I'll try your marinade as well, looked simple enough thanks guys!

  • you guys should do your own take on clam chowder!!! yuuum!<3

  • Hey Sortedfood great channel!

Question: Is your oven "Degrees" the same as ours (in the USA)? Is it in Fahrenheit or Celsius? Just wondering if there is a difference... 200 seems kind of low..
