@mjlar94 in this video this is just a true dual setup with two flowmaster 40 series mufflers and no other performance mods... they cut the y pipe out and welded a pipe to each side so it would be a "true dual" exhaust... however in another one of my videos this truck has a programmer and an intake so you can check that out if you like
Hey guys. Love the Truck. Im getting an 04 4.6 this week. My first f-150. I cant wait to get started on it. Any advice or tips you all can give me would be appreciated. Im thinking true duals< i just dont know which brand. thanks guys!
@shaindaman13 i think you will like true duals it sounds great.. just realize you might be giving up some low end torque because of the decrease in back pressure. this can be remedied by programmers such as the edge evolution i had (in my other drive by video) it claims up to 50 ft/lbs of torque increase and trust me you will notice the difference if you tune it up to lvl 3 extreme which means high performance. i loved my flowmasters i had and the stainless steel tips (chrome tips rust easier)
@wildrul That was then. I ended up finding a 2005 5.4 F150 and bought it. Im seriously thinking about running the exhaust tips out before the back wheels just to be a little different. I love this truck and have been supprised at how much torque and hi end power it has, to sum up, its a blank canvas right now and I could go in any direction at this point. THANKS FOR THE TIP!
@shaindaman13 no problem dude. just be careful with the tips in front of the tire. ive seen photos where the exhaust fumes got on the paint of the truck and i wouldn't like having to keep that clean all the time plus regular dirt and such. im not saying u cant do it the f150 lightnings have that setup as well as other trucks just make sure its done right
thanks man im glad you like it... sometime i hope to get a new video of my truck it has a new cold air intake and a programmer which will change the sound alot.... all i had here was just the exhaust at the recording of this video... but time is tight so idk when i will be able to get that up
the 4.6 V8 sounds ten times better than the 5.4 V8. the sound from low rpm to high rpm are always great. i have the cherry bomb extreme muffler on my 04 4.6. 2.5in pipe single in single out to the stock location. my buddy has the same set up on his 06 5.4 and my truck sounds a lot better. his has no high rpm sound. it sounds like a leaf blower. i think it has something to do with the way the cats. are set up. your tuck sounds great.
Hey guys i made a mistake i originally had this video saying it was super 44s, turns out they were just 40 series sorry for any confusion or inconvience
well you are entitled to your opinion, but it sounds better now and in person because this was shortly after the installation, also people complement the sound of this truck all the time... just letting you know
thats a nice sounding truck man. i went with the original 40 series, for some reason they sound louder to me. i went with magnaflows first, they were to quiet for me. if your looking for a louder sound, get some high flow cats, thats what im about to do.
yea my truck isn't as loud as some but it is fairly loud... i have been thinkin about puttin on high flows but they cost a good bit that i can't really afford at the moment
Nice truck man. I had an '04 with the Flowmaster American Thunder system. Check out my new '05. I have the Roush off road exhaust. Just wanted something different I suppose. LOL 5 stars:)
Is this a flowmaster 40 on the stock exhaust system? Any cat delete, programmer or intake?

BlacMamba08 2 years ago
@BlacMamba08 according to the goverment site... 14-18... if you drive heavy at all... less than that by a few mpg unless u buy parts that improve mpg

This comment has received too many negative votes show
this video is a travesty to all fords. True duals on a 4.6 motor just don't sound right, please if your going to get a v8, at least get the weak 5.4!

Not bad man. Sounds quite nice. Background music and the driving maneuvers make it look like its a advertizement by Edmunds or something haha.
