And the name Sarkozy is not French. Now the French people gave him a majortiy of their votes in the last election. And what about Francoise Hardy? Her last name doesn't sound very French either. But she is considered an icon of French pop music by the French people (and more and more by others too).

This is not true. The French are no more racist than many Americans. If they were so racists, how come so many Muslim are in France? As for Marie Laforet, she was BORN in France, that makes her as French as any other. France has welcome many immigrants from many countries, some of them or their offspring had fantastic artistic career in France, like Charles Aznavour, Serge Gainsbourg, Dalida, Nana Mouscouri, and others.
