  • I was bored only heard a couple of Pearl Jam's songs (Even Flow, Jeremy) listen to this *BRAIN EXPLODES*

  • have written over 800 poems and 12 songs thanks to the TEN album. This is a major favorite song that used to hypnotize me when I was 14. It saved my life when I didnt think I had friends and the ropes were the answer. Now that my dad is dying, he needs so much release from the pain he is in,,, barely skin only bones.. can't surf anymore...gotta listen to the song again and the wound will be covered with a special band aid..Thanks for posting this song...

  • Sony Music just fucked up my playlist. I spent 1 hour doing their last setlist into a playlist, and now I can't play it due some sony music bullshit rights.

It just doesn't work on playlist, can you believe it?

  • 0:08 why eddie said "AH"? lol

  • my fave still 20 some yrs later.....

  • pearl jam is my god. no other band can raise and lower my emotions, as if waves crashing against the seattle shore. nothing is of comparison to the epic happening of pearl jam. the story, the people, the time, the places, the expirience, and the sound.

  • mine too :)

  • When I purchased the "Ten" CD from Pearl Jam nearly 20 years ago, I gave the disc a listen and fell in love with this song! It actually became my favorite song of the collection!

  • Eddie Vedder is brillant!! He has so much soul. I can and have listned to this band all day

  • This song reminds me of my morphine addiction I had back in high school... Release seemed perfect with the way I felt when I was high. It made the song all the more powerful and it really spoke to me.. "Ill Ride the Wave Where it Takes ME" Blew me away!! I no longer use and Im thankful for that. Release is a very beautiful song and has new meaning since Ive been off all drugs for almost a year now.. Its really opened up my eyes. I will always be a Pearl Jam fan no matter what life brings me:)

  • Love it bro..I used to listen to hard core rap back in the days..and one day I heard the song Jeremy..and I never looked back..ty for the video..

  • @sugawulfpimp1 I actually hear a rap version of the song Jeremy, called Jereme. It's rather good from some unknown rapper. If I can find it, Ill be sure to share. It's a bit more modernized but kinda cool nonetheless

  • @sugawulfpimp1 your welcome mate are you going to pj20

  • Deep song, too deep

  • Kurt hated Pearl Jam, that's a fact, I love both bands, sorry for my bad eenglish, Saludos desde Argentina!

  • Amazing song...nothing to say...

  • I know he's singing about his dad, but this song speaks to me differently. I'm in love with a married woman (and I'm living temporarily with her family), but...the fucking pain of that unfulfilled emotion is a poison in my heart. And this song is soothing. I need release from that love. Eddie Vedder reaches out and speaks to the heart.

  • @demravager hope, it all works out for the better, buddy. Peace and love

  • @demravager That is what is brilliant about Eddie Vedder, man. His words touch souls and bring out an infinite array of emotions.... Release is beautiful.

  • ah-may-zing!!!

  • "but i'll get down, can you see me now?"

  • @sydneycarton79: Not to be a douche, but the lyric is "Oh dear dad, can you see me now?" Release is Eddie singing to his dad. His dead died before Eddie ever met him.

  • Seriously what face lol?

  • Wow, 12 people seem not to have any concept of what truly great music is... tragic, just tragic.

  • nice man this brings back memories nice pics

  • EDDY looks so hot in the water with the suranfboard i surf would love to surf with HIM and IM 46

  • EDDY looks so hot in the water with the surfboard i surf would love to surf with HIM

  • its not a rap battle fucks. both were great.

  • Only an idiot dislikes this..

  • man what memories. walkin to 2km to a basketball court listening to the album ten on a walkman. tryin to forget the world :)

  • mano pearl jam sem duvida umas das melhores bandas ja inventadas

  • "i'll get down, can you see me now?"

  • @sydneycarton79 its ''oh dear dad,can you see me now?'' :P

  • This song has saved me so many times...

  • @Somipro95 You fucking noob Nirvana is a good band but she wasent so deep as pearl Jam so go somevre else

  • @Somipro95 no way bro an btw unless you had a typo Kurt was a dude.

  • @Somipro95 neither one could speak english but eddie is better by far and he is still alive oh ho hes still alive.

  • @Somipro95

    Nirvana is POP!!!

  • @daniel9581: Nirvana isn't pop. Nirvana is a great band. (Personally I prefer Pearl Jam) But seriously, there is no Pearl Jam/Nirvana rivalry, just a Pearl Jam fanboy/Nirvana fanboy rivalry. Can't we just be in love with 2 AMAZING and very different bands?

  • @daniel9581 ur an idiot

  • @Somipro95 if your a 14 year old who's prime source of music comes from mtv and rolling stone magazine then yeah, otherwise... no.

  • @Somipro95 your a F***ing retard buddy hahahaha

  • @Somipro95 Massive troll

  • @Somipro95 Kurt was weak and pathetic, and whiny and nasal....

  • Rely toutches your soul

  • this is their best song

  • ive loved this song from the day it came out. it has gottin me through some very hard times, like when i lost my Father. i think that Eddies voice/tones can grip your soul in this song, it did mine!

  • This is my mom's favorite song. Whenever I'm sad I go to this video and have her sing it to me. I don't know why she loves pearl jam, and why she loves this one particular song the most but... when I hear her sing it to me... it's relieving. Everyone hears a song differently, but what matters is what they hear when they do.. Love you mommy Laura.

  • @ozjas I miss my dad too.he died past april. =(

  • I think what he's saying is go for a swim Steve

  • My brother has a tribute band to pearl jam. Last year, he played a show and I was there with my mother. While he was singing that song, release, i looked at my mother and her eyes were filled with tears. She was cryin watching her son singing this amazing son. My mother died in a car accident 4 months ago. So this song bring me tears. Love you mom, your now released...

  • lmao who disliked???

  • Awesome song

  • yes and apparently most of his songs came to him while surfing or sitting on the beach watching the waves

  • Awesome photos of Galveston! I like it. =)

  • I think this songs about both his relationship with both his fathers... the one he grew up thinking was his dad and his actual dad who died before Eddie met him. But anyway it's about what it means to people more importantly

  • this song is fantastic

  • Q ASCO TUS FOTOS LOOSER NIGGER

  • well he uses the wave as an analogy of going where he's led so yes its definitely inspired by surfing. But I believe its also letting out some of the thoughts he had concerning his dad.

  • Bests f......g bend ever :D

  • Its about suicide. Riding the wave refers to the wave of mutilation. Its a beautiful song, Probably one of my fav's but its very dark.
