AHH YES ive been looking all over for this one, this safety video brings me back to when i was a kid flying on delta, this is probably my favourite delta safety video!

6 exits are available, however, we cannot guarantee that they will be in the same place upon impact with the ground
now please direct your attention to the seat belts, although your seat may not stay in the plane in the event of a crash it will certainly hold you in your seat
damn delta i know what a plane crash looks like ive got better things to do than waste time trying to survive one, a 6 minite descent to the ground? thats 6 minites in heaven with that stewardess!
I know you're typing. And you know what I meant. Window exits are small "doors" located at the wings area which are opened and work as emergency exits during an evacuation. On the 757s there are always 4 (2 on each side). You probably are one of those who think all planes are the same.
Don't curse Delta... airlines show safety videos because they are required to do so by Federal law. Otherwise they wouldn't waste time and money on those.
On American Airlines it is "Flight Attendants prepare for departure and cross check" or "arrival and cross-check" followed by each arming door's FAs making a P.A. that their doors are armed and visually checked by another FA by saying "1L and R prepared and cross-checked", "2L and R" etc... These door arming confirmation PAs are not directed to passengers but to other FAs. An interphone call is made if a PA is missed.
on the prepare for departure issue it varies.... in england it is normally ''Cabin Crew to be seated for departure please'' and when they want the cabin doors close it's usually ''Cabin doors to automatic'' or ''cabin doors to manual'' it will vary throughout the pilots
"Please make sure that all electronics such as laptops, cell phones, and all other portable electronic devices are in the off position" or something like that
lol, i remember this one

It's a 757-200. 6 Exit doors AND 4 window exits on the wings. Learn before you talk!
theconcorden 3 years ago
im not talking im typing. lol 4 window exits on the wing? why do they need windows on the wing? do people sit in them?

I like the new one, maybe it's just because I'm in it... It is kind of corny. I don't think we use it yet, we just shot it in Jan. of 08.
ramrod23 3 years ago
are you sure it was filmed then? because i thought they shot it in JAN 07 maybe you got it mixed up

why is it when you go on a aircraft the safety video jumps or is blurred when the plane is taxing to the runway???
mckemSean2101 4 years ago
This is caused by the engines starting. All the power is needed to start the engines, for a few seconds.

The narrator of this safety demo sounds almost condescending. She talks like she's speaking gently to a child. Maybe this is to keep people calm.
I prefer to new Air NewZealand and Air Canada olds. They look prefessional.

"Please prepare doors for departure"
read: please lock the big ass bar into place that makes the slides rip out if the door opens fast!
aerobat150 4 years ago
"FAs Prepare for departure" is the announcement to Flight Attendant so they seat and buckle up.
theconcorden 4 years ago
Fas should already be seated and buckled up by this point-unless for safety reasons!
pipegar 4 years ago
The timing isn't so persice I'd guess, especially with the parking gates at SNA with extremely close proximity to the runway.
travelsonic 4 years ago
What did the captain say before "prepare for departure"?
travelsonic 5 years ago
He says, "Flight attendants, please prepare for departure."
TrapShooter123 4 years ago
I meant it sounded like something about opposition... a jest about the takeoff proceedure? I must have misheard though and that isn't what I heard.
travelsonic 4 years ago
um... aright then, its probably "Flight attendants, please prepare doors for departure."
TrapShooter123 4 years ago
Before he says "Flight attendants, please prepare doors for departure" in whole, you can hear him finishing another sentence.
travelsonic 4 years ago
"Please make sure that all electronics such as laptops, cell phones, and all other portable electronic devices are in the off position" or something like that

And I'm curious, what aircraft is that?
electrogeek77 5 years ago
757 and was flown july 2005

The old video seems more imformative. I went on a 757 this April and they cut out too many detailed instructions.
