Drawing down military presence has nothing to do with isolationism. These hawks see to not realize how important trade is to build relationships with new allies. They also underestimate the strain the last decade - and even more so under Obama - between Tokyo and DC.

I also question this labeling of the Arab protests as "spring". It would be a grave mistake to think these protest are purely about freedom while ignoring the economic considerations, such as rising food prices.
