  • Jim Carry and Tommy Lee Jones gave two of the best joker preformances ever....too bad they were playin' The Riddler and Two-Face :D

  • to be ohnest, when i was young i thought this movie was awesome but as i look as it now its not that good............... its still not that bad though.

  • 1. using Tommy lee Jones as two-face was a good choice but they used him wrong. thank god Aaron eckhart avenged the character in the dark knight

    2. you know how you said that this movie was watchable? well do you mean that it could appeal to someone?

  • How do feel about the other animated series "Brave and the Bold"?

  • @TheNumnutRandomness It doesn't bother me. It's the silver age Batman and it's a great way to introduce kids to Batman and the DC Universe. I will say that there is one really kick ass episode where Batman goes after Joe Chill, the man who killed his parents.

  • @ERod2010 For some reason, it seems like the only episode which isn't readily available :(

  • Joel Schumacher actually did appologize for his batman films because he was only doing what the studio told him to do. basically, he admitted to being a sellout...

sucks, and i liked when he directed the origional lost boys

  • @ 8:35 but I love Teen Titans Robin :(

  • Forget my comment, someone already asked.

  • 8:01 where is that from? Is that Batman: TAS making fun of Joel Shumaker? Epic!

  • @burningpizza1 Yes, you are correct.

  • Good critic...

  • I actually think that this movie is so bad it's funny. Most bad comic movies as of late are just plain bad to me.

  • have you seen shaun of the dead and could you give a mini review here in the comments :)

  • @TMmaniamovies Sure. It's one of my all time favorite movies. I grew up watching Zombie films, and I would often find that Zombie Movies sucked if they weren't directed by George A. Romero. Shaun of the Dead is the first Zombie film I've seen that lives up to the Romero standard. FYI, you have red on you.

  • @ERod2010 haha it's indeed a great movie :)

  • @ERod2010 Hey ERod!! I thought Zombieland was a cool movie too. Not to really compare to zombie movies or anything, but just to compare to regular movies.

  • @ERod2010 How do you like the Walking Dead?

  • @MrIHunter1 I love it. It's Like an updated version of The Stand.

  • batman forever is a lot better then batman & robin

  • which episode is that clip from @ 8:03?

  • @BoyNamedSue4 Legends of the Dark Knight.

  • @ERod2010 Thanks

  • Whatever you say, Carrey is perfect playing this maniac villain...

  • Why was tommy Lee Jones chosen to play Two face I mean besides the fact in Batman thats the one with the joker for the people who don't know Harvey was black there are so many actors that have been perfect for the role I mean Tommy Lee Jones a little old for the role of Two face

  • I will so forever hate this movie and the next for messing up Robin, just once I would like to see them do Robin in a movie right, as in age, badass-ness, hell seems only the games seem to get it right *sighs*

With that said, I hope ERod Had gloves on when he put that turd back where it belong!

  • @KitsuneNights I did.

  • I gotta admit, there were some major flaws, but you nitpick a bit too unrealistically on this movie. It wasn't special, but it wasn't terrible. However there were indeed some bad moments..and batman making his puns were indeed terrible, as well as the batmobile's neon lights. Overall though, it was passable and somewhat enjoyable even. Batman and Robin is the truly terrible one.

  • @BlackWraith328 I agree about him adopting Robin as well, but I waved it off as "maybe they want to pass him off as being 18 or 19. That's a stretch but sure, why not. Whatever, get's the plot along." I agree its a flaw though, just one i didn't nitpick over because of how very...average this movie was. If it was better though, I'd've made a bigger deal honestly.

  • @BlackWraith328 also, just saying but Warner Bros themselves wanted a "more maintream" batman movie, so this would've happened either way. I'd say this movie could've been worse..and point to it's sequal as proof.

  • Just re-watching the movie now myself after seeing it as a kid when it was new. Honestly, I gotta say I loved Jim Carry as the Riddler and their choice for Robin. Other than that, this movie wasn't that good. Amusing, but not the right style for a Bamtan movie to go for overall. Even Jim as Riddler was kinda sarcastically mimicking his own usual style. Get rid of the new gal Chase and make Two-face alot better and this woulda been an alright movie. Still beats the crap out of Batman and Robin.

  • @BlackWraith328 okay I'm further into the movie and honestly..it's an alright movie despite those faults. Jim Carry was great as riddler and I lov'ed Chris O'donnell as Robin. His story arc was nice, even if not amazing. It really makes me wonder what it could've been some though..if Two-face and the love interest were alot better. Gonna comment on your review after this.

  • I'm surprised you haven't upgraded to the 2 Disc Special Editions or the Blu-Ray release. I know Forever and Robin sucks, but the commentaries and features are well worth the extra dollars for the Box Set

  • well actually the take over the world plots in batman and robin were pretty convaluded because mr. freeze wanted to freeze the entire world while poison ivy wanted to cover it in plants and you can't really plant much if the ground is frozen solid

  • One of my guilty pleasure movies.

  • Comment removed

  • where was the disc lol

  • @phoniexkai Some where were it wouldn't accidentally fall in to the toilet.

  • @ERod2010 lol o ok

  • @ERod2010 I know, I was making a joke about what every fan wanted to do with this movie in what ever format and shoving it some where in Schumacher, though sadly missed ERod's comment

  • @ERod2010 8:00-8:05

Thank you, while it wasn't really big on my list of curiosities I know know where that allusion came from. I also now know why those kids have very different views on Batman... Accursed homages...

  • @phoniexkai You don't want to know 0_0

  • @IGeorge94 Whilst having the flash back of Erod with the DVD and meating Schumacher, with such rage.

  • @IGeorge94 he said some where it wouldnt accidentally fall in to the toilet

  • @Erod2010 there was no disc in there

  • @horrorandclassics Stop ruining it for everybody!!!

  • @ERod2010 I'm just saying

  • @horrorandclassics next thing you know, your going to start telling everyone that Santa Clause is not real... ah, fuck!

  • @ERod2010 Noooooo. k

  • Do you really have the comic that introduced Robin in the comics ? If so , how much did it cost ?

    ME WANT ! T3T

  • @Marjoh1963 Wow, it took two years, but some one finally asked. I'm sorry to say that what I am holding in this episode is a re-print and it's completely worthless.

  • @ERod2010 Thats unfortunate. it looks so awesome

  • i think the 60's version was most loyal to batman at the time anyways. if im not mistaken that was around the silver age and everyone knows that was where all the weird shit went down (weird for comics). i mean batman had a freaking time machine back then

  • @megamonmon Exactly.

  • & WATCH OUT FOR BATASSES!!!!!!

  • @IGeorge94 Batasses, very dangerous, you go first.

  • @ERod2010 I'm only just a boy, I'd never survive. I don't want to imagine what he'll do to me <:(

  • @IGeorge94 Don't give me that "I'm only just a boy" crap. Man up, kick some BatAss, next thing you know you'll be telling this story to your Grandchildren.

  • @ERod2010 YOU'RE RIGHT!!! I got to deal with this and go, so that my story can be told through out the ages, wish me luck Erod, as I'm going to go kick the Assly Duo's ass. Walks to Gotham city with the sound of trumpets a company me off to the sunset.

  • speaking of the batmobile how did you feel about the recent batmobile in the Christopher Nolan movies and batpod?

oh one thing what were your thoughts on the dark night rises trailer, bada@# or busted

  • @okami1101 I thought the vehicles looked cool. The Trailers didn't get me exited (Anne Hathaway still looks like a little girl to me) but I still want to see it.

  • 3:27 crotch shot.

  • Something I've always wondered since Batman Returns, why do they always use two villains in his movies? I understand they want to get to as many of his rogues gallery as possible, but it just seems to complicate things in the story.

  • @JapaneseJoe101 I agree, Spider-man was doing fine with one villain at a time and then they had to fuck it up in the third one.

  • PLEASE! review G I Joe the virgin Cobra before the new one(the cool one) comes out

  • @monoveloso Im sorry, didnt know you already did -.- just founded it

    you rock BBB

  • @monoveloso I already did.

  • What the hell were they thinking giving this to Schumacher? And was he on gay-meth while he was making it? Batman Returns wasn't "great", but it was still pretty damn good. It's fucking Citizen Kane compared to this piece of shit.

  • and wait riddler comes up with a device which can control and read people's brains.... :/ um WRONG VILLIAN

  • @marvelbrothers

    *cough* Mad Hatter *cough*

  • "your a lucky man... but he's not" "who?" "your driver" Awsome two-face line from the dark knight. Even though the dark knight two-face had the idea of fate and not the idea of duality (like in the animated series) , he completley owns the giggling fucking joke that is Tommy lee Jones' two-face

  • Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy had a good take-over-the-world scheme? They planned to freeze Earth, killing all human and all life in general and then letting Ivy's mutant plants take over. That she bred with animal traits so that they could defend themselves against humans. Are you seeing the problem yet?

  • "Contains Content from AdRev?" WHAT THE FUCK YOUTUBE!?

  • And about "stupid" plotpoints:

Don't you remember that in Batman TAS Two Face tried to kill Bats by flipping a giant Coin?

It's as unrealistic as a crime-fighting-furry-lovin-master martial artist - genius-multibillionare playboy can get but the goofiness and cheeseness of a flick doesnt determine the viewers enjoyment level but i just loved the energy and overall campy feel of the movie as well as cinematography and lighting effects

it's not a perfect movie but it's not Twilight either

  • @RyouuichiKun15 This was my first Fan request. When I started I vowed I would grant the first fan request no matter what it was, and this is what the fans chose. Go figure.

  • @ERod2010

    Uh huh RIIIIIIGHT, dude.

    Real profesionalism right there man.

"Just pick an easy but popular target and don't go in great details while busting it and move with natural flow of hatred channeling thru that movie - that'll get you more revies" Just saying.... Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker is A MUCH worse movie IMHO

  • Now, i gotta heavily disagree here with you Erod,

This movie was rather dandy, thank you very much

Sorry but your negative points don't even make it look rotten.

The thing with this movie is - it's disconnected from the previous Batman media. It has a lighter Atmosphere ( with unique visuals and great soundtrack), the setting became more bizzare and unrealistic

The actors were good ( Jim Carrey stole the show, but Two face was just a poor mans joker Knock Off).

  • Hey ERod are going to review Green Lantern?

  • @MyDestroyer92 I plan to do an honest review somewhere down the line.

  • if you didnt could you review cowboys and aliens

  • @blackopman100 I'm seriously considering it.

  • @ERod2010 please review the flintstones movie if u haven't already

  • @hunt3erz53 Dang, The Nostalgia Critic already did it and Mike J already Reviewed Flinstones Viva Rock Vegas.

  • @ERod2010 Why dont you review the Jetsons Movie ? Even tho I like it

  • @NightmareOzLuffy I din't think it was bad, also that's another one that is on The Nostalgia Critic's hit list.

  • @ERod2010 I did not know that , How about that 2001 Josie and The Pussycats movie , thats Hanna Barbera related

  • @NightmareOzLuffy Oh, that's a good one, I'm going to see if I can schedule it.

  • @ERod2010 No problem BB my good man

  • Batman Forever or how many homo erotic images can we fit into one movie?

  • ohh shut up. batman forever is a good movie. not the best but still good

  • it is a neon light show and Jim carry did steel the show

  • Whichever way you look at it it's a better movie than Batman & Robin. "CHILL OUT!" GET OUT OF MY HEAD ARNIE!

  • The Bat Ass has a zipper! I am not kidding! Go back and look!

  • i agree with u this movie is stupid batman returns was way better than than this piece of shit called batman forever the title sounds gay

  • @178laaleros Im with you on that one. This film stunk, Batman Returns is far more superior.

  • hey Erod were you from ?

  • @UltraCriticguy Puerto Rico

  • @ERod2010 wow so cool me too

  • @ERod2010 Im from Puerto Rico too :D

  • If you look closely at the DVD case at the 0:55-1:10 mark you'll see that there's no disk in it.

  • @thesyfychannel15 STOP SPOILING IT FOR EVERYBODY!!!!!

  • @ERod2010 Jeez, sorry.

  • @thesyfychannel15 It's okay, I forgive you, just this once.

  • i like batman and robin

  • batman forever was good

  • I love the part when he says Joel 'Fucking' Schumacher and a picture of Joel is shown with a smiling face, it's like as if ERod2010 is telling this to Joel in the face =D, awesome

  • Never saw this movie don't want to see it now I've seen this thank you Erod.

  • @DR2334 All in a days work.

  • @ERod2010 Speaking of Batman are you interested in the games at all? I mean I have the Arkham Asylum game which I loved a lot and then there's that New Arkham City. I've reserved it and am really looking forward to it because of all the villans.

They are much better portayed in the games than in this movie I think Riddler even though you never saw him in the Asylum game still felt like the real Riddler. I used to like Jim Carrey as a kid but he's not funny to me anymore.

  • @DR2334 I'm interested, but i'm not looking to buy them anytime soon, I'm not a gamer.

  • @ERod2010 Well that's ok I mean everyone had different views right. But I agree with the fact that this movie sounded quite bad. I mean Two Face didn't even scare me and well he's surpose to be all about Duality. I think Joel or whatever his name was said he was sorry for making these movies or was it just Batman and Robin? Frankly I hated Batman and Robin because of the Ice puns.

  • nice teen titans joke and love the show keep on bustin

  • So how did you like Under the Red Hood and Gotham Knights?Any chance you'll do an honest review of Batman TAS?

  • @ArmymanZ83 Love Under The Red Hood, Hate Gotham Knight. & Sorry reviewing TAS has pretty much become Doug's territory, but I do talk about the show often.

  • @DrGatuFINALE I didn't claim to be funny, or right. Maybe you're looking too deep in to this.

  • When i first saw this movie i actually like it. However that was when I was like 12. A year ago I saw it on TV and realized just how incredibly bad it really was

  • @shadowspider9 I had pretty much the same experience.

  • 00:03 Shameless advertising plug FTW!

  • 00:03 Shameless advertising plug FTW!

  • Contrary to what people think - live action Batman didn't start with the Adam West series.

Batman first appeared on film in a 15 part series in the early 40's.

  • @Melirune I didn't say that the 1966 series was his first live action appearance I said that "General Audiences" were introduced to the character through the show. I'm well aware of the Black & White movie serials.

  • @ERod2010

Oh I know what you said haha. I was just throwing that out there as a piece of info everyone else might not have know.

  • @Melirune Oh, then by all means continue to enlighten the masses.

  • i like batman forever and batman and robin

  • It's Permanent Record at 8:56! Man, I feel like a geek now. :P

As for my thoughts on the film, it's okay, Not great, but okay. Since I was in high school at the time with my hormones raging, this movie got me salivating over Nicole Kidman. I have yet to find a movie she looks hotter in.

The game's infinitely worse than the movie BTW. :P

    Great review as always!

  • @elbryan42 I HAD THE GAME!!!!! Excuse me I'm going to assume the fetal position & cry.

  • I loled after you used a plunger to bring back the DVD from the toilet.

  • The sad thing is,Schumacher tried to make a tribute to the 1960's Batman show whit his movies.

  • Holy shit! I never caught that the kid in the boa was named Joel! Thanks for that, you just made my day.

On an unrelated note, we don't want to know where you keep Batman and Robin, do we?

  • I am suprised ERod didn't flip his lid when he sees that Two-Face is being played by Tommy Lee Jones.

  • @sillygrl23 TLJ is great actor. Don't be... silly.

  • @ERod2010 lol, that is cute.

Yeah, I guess the movie wouldn't have done so well without his acting chops to keep it from bombing. Good point. :)

  • 2010, 240p video? How...?

  • Batman and Robin is worse than this movie.

  • @Mynameis708 Yeah, I kinda liked Batman Forever, it didn't have too much camp and it still retained that sort of darkness and drama that made the first two movies intriguing. It didn't bother me too much. But Batman and Robin...it lost me after the bat nipples and codpiece outer-underwear.

  • BEST!!

    INTRO!!!

    EVER!!!!!!!

  • @Sara595 Thank you.

  • @ERod2010 your Welcome, Keep up the hard work

  • screw all this bullshit

    I Love

    THE MARIO MOVIE

    THE STAR WARS PREQUEL TRILOGY

    AND

    BATMAN FOREVER!

apparently i have an awful taste in films... ohwell

  • @Marioiswicked It is what it is brother, I too love The Mario Movie, the others not so much, but I don't hold that against you.

  • @Marioiswicked The Prequels aren't horrible (aside from dialogue in Episode 2), they're just compared to the originals too much that they pale immensely. Batman Forever is basically taking the Adam West era campiness and adding a budget. Mario is a guilty pleasure of mine although, like Godzilla, I refer to it as Mario in name only.

  • Erod could you review the fantastic four movies

  • @Gogeta4Fun Next week.

  • Batman Forever is not bad, it's just a change in tone, but I would not consider it as bad, I find it very entertaining

  • @starball23 agreed

  • I honestly enjoy this movie. There are things I don't like about it (the neon, the design of the Batmobile, the nipples on the Batsuit, and Two Face's over elaborate plans), but there's also parts I enjoy about it. I honestly thought Jim Carrey made a good Riddler :D

  • Dude I used to love this movie. It was the very first Batman movie I saw and I was like 5 or 6 years old. I loved it for years but now when I go back and watch it I realize how freakin dumb it is. I hate to trash it though because it brings back so many memories. And hey, the soundtrack and score for the film is awesome!

  • there was no disc in the batman forever case, must have gone to the sewers.

  • @VEZOK54 yeah, I had to cut the scene out when i climbed down there to recover it, it wasn't pretty.

  • By the way, Two Face was so dumb in this movie . He acted like another joker, but sucked. In the comics and The Dark Knight he was done way better

  • @redhoodx98 Yeah....but he's still stupid and usless in TDK, he didn't kill The Joker (A.K.A, the man who fucking killed the woman he loved) when he had the chance.

  • @redhoodx98 Even the Silver Age Two Face was better.

  • Man, this movie and B&R were so bad that they had to cancel the next movie which the villan was going to be scarecrow, my 2nd favorite Batman villian with Harley Quinn, The Mad Hatter, worst batman villan, and Man Bat. After that was cancelled they were going to make a movie based on Batman Year One, but that failed. Don't worry thaey are making a anumated movie of Year One with The Dark Knight Returns. Then Batman vs Superman, which was a bad idea. Then succed with Batman Begins.

  • batman begins and iron man are my fav comic book movies of all time

  • I liked this movie, the one ting I would change would be Chris O'Donnell playing Robin. he didn't know how to act as Dick Grayson, it felt like I was watching Jason Todd instead.

  • @jonykakuyo That's interesting, cause in an interview Joel Shumacher claimed that he wanted this Robin to be a hybrid of all three Robins.

  • batman begins and the dark knight aren't too hot either. God those movies are terrible. Well all movies nowadays. Guess I'm stuck with the oldies, oh and indie films.

  • @ajtemp2000 i hate batman begins. dark knight was pretty good. i also like many old movies but i enjoy the new movies too.

  • @DA3KN1GHTX probably but it had some good special effects. i also thought the adam west batman was petty funny. i guess i like humor in my shows and movies.

  • honestly batman forever wasn't that bad. It was the first batman movie i watched as a kid so I guess i have a soft spot for it.

  • @dh88274 I use to enjoy it too, I guess Batman and Robin really killed it for me.

  • @DA3KN1GHTX i watched both batman forever and batman and robin . I also rnjoyed both of them i really don't see what is so bad about batman and robin.

  • Hello me again, I have another question what do think of the name for the new batman film the dark knight rises cuz I thort they could have come up with a better name like the caped crusader.

  • @febbabe11 Knowing Christopher Nolan, I wouldn't be surprised if that's not even the actual tittle.

  • You know, you are incredibly knowledgeable, I don't know if that fact is always appreciated.

  • @DNAngel2009 Thank you very much.

  • @DA3KN1GHTX I will do an "honest review" of spidey 2 when it gets closer to the time for the new Spidey movie to come out.

  • @DA3KN1GHTX That's okay, this is all for fun.
