HI Robert,Tremendous job done by you,you have shared very -2 clear and nice oracle rac installation .I did go through to all your videos and successfully set up the rac.Thanks you very much.
Hi Robert. I tried Rac installation but there is vipca problem. Default gateway is not pingable due to that ivipca fails. How to resolve this problem ,
As alternate solution I boot up third virtual machine as default gateway but it slows down the performance.
i tried to make suggested modification to racgvip script but it doesn't work.
I implemented everything each & every step that you have described in videos but I would like to explain the configuration that I have.
default gateway is not pingable because there is no machine in the network that have ip 192.168.0.1
I have to use dhcp for HOST machine to use internet broadband. May be in your configuration 192.168.0.1 is Host machine IP. Because how an address can be reached if its not assigned to anybody? Plz sugest
What need to re-run again?? I faced so many problems while installing . Some I would like to share with you.
1. While installation virtual machine immediately disappears ,& when I check frm vmware server console its status is POWERED OFF. May be its due to limited RAM . I have 3GB RAM.
2. After installation when i use dbca to create database & if I choose "Custom Database" template then after 88% progress rac1 immediately disappers & status is powered off. Is this a bug?
Oracle Database needs at least 1.5GB of RAM. You could install with 1.5GB RAM then reduce to 1GB. It will run but wont be usable or at least thats what I think.
Hey robert!! I am using vmware server and oracle on linux 5. I want to implementing RAC on my laptop that has specification of 320GB h.disk and 3GB RAM. I have a query that if I am specifying RAM of 1GB for vmware and swap of of 2GB, would it be possible to simultaneously run 3 nodes for RAC? wont the RAM be insufficient to run 3nodes?

I don't believe version of VMware would stop you from achieving your goals. Think of VMware like hardware. It will allow you to install different OS. You should first consider the OS, then see if that version of VMware supports that OS.
Hi Robert! It would be so helpful for me if u pls tell me the latest version i can download for vmware to install oracle 11g and implement standby and RAC etc.

You must have missed step.
Did you do any backup during install? If so I suggest, you go back few step and re-run those steps.

Robert

Hi Robert! Im Daniel, from Spain.
Your videos had helpped me so much.
I've learned a lot, pretty good for my carrer.
Can i ask you, if you don't mind, out of your videos. Did you have any issues with the interfaces when rebooting or starting up the nodes?
Because i did excactly what you described, and my interfaces don't comunicate when rebooted, i have to set them down and then up.
I guess, you are using Win 7 for the Host Server... excuse if I'm wrong. I'm using Win 2008 Server.
Best regards.

@DaNerToR
Sounds like a bug.
Edit /etc/modprobe.conf and add the line below;
alias acpiphp off
Reboot and let me know if the issue is fixed.
