I find it ironic that they are doing this to be accepted into the kingdom of God, however it is extremely likely this people will go to hell. Even as a young child when I got introduced to the heaven/hell crap I didn't believe a single word of it but just assumed it was a metaphor like almost all of the bible stories I got told. Nobody in my catholic community took "hell" literaly to the best of my knowledge, nor did they take the unicorns, giants or wale swallowing Jona literally. Believing hell exists is a bit on the crazy side in my eyes...
