No kime... Not good. Today so many people want to learn as many kata as possible but they don't do them correctly. What's the point? I'd rather work on my heian and one or two superior kata and do them good.
The kata was ok but lacked power, the one on the right did not fully execute some of his attacks and the bunkai was abit sloppy. I think the kata was too hard to properly execute for them- some of their mistakes should be corrected before they become too serious and cause problems in the future. I am not being mean for the sake of it, I feel people must be instruced by improving on their floors before they take on new challenges.
Individually the kata looked quite good, nice timings and technique, but unless you're insanely experienced it is impossible to do as a team kata, it's way too long. It's still a very good attempt, especially for 5th Kyu, i'm sure many even up to and above 1st kyu will find it hard to maintain that individual standard.
Nice bunkai ideas, it did look good, just a bit sceptical whether that would work on the street.

The kata was together for the most part but technique could have been a lot better and if they werent ready for it then it should not have been performed. this is just poor. i mean this is jion, a good kata to show power and speed, I know 12-year olds in my club that can even do better. bunch of losers, go do some ping pong and leave the karate to the real men
Thomasvc its a shame to post this sort of comment. You have either forgotten your Dojo code or don't seem to use one. These guys are juniors doing their best and learning, and having the guts at least to enter competition. Of course they need to train but your sort of attitude puts people off.

After Funakoshi's death, Otsuka founder of Wado-ryu went to Okinawa "to correct" a lot of "mistakes; the Okinawa bunkai made a lot more sense

I make Jion for about 4 year...and this is a kata of power combine with speed...if they will train more...they will have chances

High level katas should flow along...do the slow things slowly, gently...then explode into the next move and finish it...
this was completly mechanic, there's no kime :/
I wouldn't mind if it was a lower level kata, but it's jion
This dudes should pratice some more before thinking about try this kata in competition
