She continued skating on her own for a while (Daria actually competed for a while as well). She started dating Ilia Kulik, had a daughter with him and they eventually got married. I think they tried pairs for a bit, but I haven't seen or heard much about their performances. She seems really happy now.
she just recently concluded her participation in ice age in russia. she may not have a lot of skating commitments in the US as of this time, but she recently got very busy in russia and europe. lisa, her daughter with ilia, is training to be a competitive ice skater herself.

I remember when this happened. I cried for days. I couldn't watch any figure skating competitions for a long time. It was such a sad time.
