One thing i have always liked about this show is that while it's technically fantasy they give little real world tie-ins. Like the Picts.

The Picts were a group of tribes that lived in what would later become Scott land.

I vow to watch every one of these episodes until I go insane. I wonder why they go light on the crom references? They must have been worried about super christian mothers firebombing their studio. I remember my mother banning me from "Smurfs" because of the devil worship. She never noticed me watching this show though, or me reading the books. Notice how parents never bother to check what your reading. Why did all of our cartoons have shoddy animation? do they think kids don't care?

Crom only breathes life into men and gives them the ability to fight.

Also Howard was good friends with HP Lovecraft who write the Cthulhu stories and their creations take place in the same universe. The Serpent Men are Lovecraft's creation but he only mentioned them. Howard actually used them in "The Shadow Kingdom" with Kull and mentions R'lyeh in another of his stories.

Still, why don't they use the words "Ka nama kaa lajerama" on the Serpent Men?
