I'm not sure... , i herd that you need to do this in many other videos. You could probobly lood it up in youtube of Google..... Sorry that i can't help.

to tune it down by a 1/2 step means to go deeper on all the strings...the E string would become E flat, B to B flat..etc
you can do that easily with an electric tuner
