really nice! when making a harp guitar is the shape of the body very important? because ive already seen lot of harp guitars but every single one is different...
Neat! Reminds me a bit of some old Satriani stuff, but I'm not dogging you for that. If I had one of those, I'd likely play something very similar. Keep messing with it and discover more!
Thanks, the pickups are by K&K Sound - its a semi custom model based on the their pure western mini and has 5 pickups fixed to the underside of the bridge plate inside the guitar. Comes on with 2 signals one for the bass strings one for the 'normal' 6 strings.
video sounds better if you paste &fmt=18 onto the end of the address to get the high quality version which for some reason hasn't been added?!
wow this is nice.. just the sound of that thing :| cant say im a great fan of what u play, but its definately not boring. awesome, and i like yr video of zombie too, keep up the amazing work!
Wow! On De Faoite's site, he wrote that your harp guitar is the only one he's made so far - how was the experience of talking to a luthier and having him make a new kind of instrument for the first time? It must have felt like a gamble, but it looks like it turned out great. It sounds and looks beautiful.
Actually I met him at Cheltenham guitar show and played the guitar there. I then went to his workshop and had a more in depth play, (thinking about have him build me one) and decided that it was just what I wanted it felt right. It is small as harp guitars go, which I think is a plus for my back as I play standing almost all the time!
it's a bit boring, definately something to evolve into something more. But yeah, sounds nice, and as you say, it's just jamming through an idea :) What's the tuning on the guitar?
At the moment I have the guitar in DADGAD and then the sub bass to GABCDE - Gmajor scale for all intents.
That is written in stone and David had the basses tuned differently. I have been experimenting a fair bit and I'm sure that it will change from song to song.
Bearing any little bit of your soul on youtube is quite a gamble.Great Job!!I really want to hear more!

nice chord choices they sound awesome. you seemed to use the harp part mainly like a bass guitar, is that style choice or is that how to use it?

It is indeed. Loving it! so much to try and nothing is set in stone - enjoying exploring 'how' to play it.
