@salzahrah is either a stepper motor, you tell how many steps to step, control speed of steps, or is servo, with servo, there's a device to measure where it is, so can control it that way.

the noise is that of the stepping motor. Stepping motors have a characteristic sound that some people find objectionable.

@felderup It is a stepping motor. as you imply, you can program it to move at a given rate of steps per second with our programmable controller.
