the cat really should be played by a guy, the role just feels like something that should be played by a guy, your actress did fabulous, but it just seemed weird to see a girl do it as well as you took out the very start where the boy/jojo, talks about the hat in the middle of the stage, that personally is what i like seuss for, his play on words, and his ability to just make them up, and it kinda starts out the whole story, and explains why the cat is there

Not to mention, it looks like the Cat is mic'd whereas the others aren't, so her voice is coming through more.

I hate to criticise, but a few elements threw me off;

1. First, costuming: If you choose a theme, stay with one.

2. This show is heavily vocal. More time should have been spent on the vocal aspect.

3. In your description, you said 5 months of rehearsal. My school did this show in 5 weeks and it was more polished. Make use of your time, guys!

@sineadyep It's a pretty "big" part, but at the same time she's really not in it THAT much. I'd say she's the second biggest female role, assuming Jojo is played by a boy. Hope that helps! :)

@sineadyep Mayzie is a lead in the show, quite a big part. Nobody has really a lot of lines other than Cat. You do have quite a lot of songs. 5 songs to be exact. Mayzie helps the plot of the show by giving her egg to Horton, which leads to many events.

Yes i hate to say it but the costumes were not good. They were not lazy but it looked like you were working to hard on a topic that had nothing to do with the story and did not go with the musical at all. But other than that it was good. And yes are JoJo was a girl as well.

I was Jojo in Seussical Jr. - The problem is that there is no set / props / good costumes. I think the vocals are good just need more work. Does jojo have a microphone or whats up with that? I would probabaly not recommend this performance. The Cat was Great and all the others but More SET !

@Eponine21 Well I PERSONALLY would want to be Gerturde... alas I'm a guy, so that wouldn't really work out to well ;) Mayzie is pretty good too, and so is the Sour Kangaroo. Who you go for should really depend on who you feel you could work with better :)

I LOVE stage performances! This year my 5th grade class is going to do Puttin' on the hits.Well I think thats what its called, but we do alot of songs on stage.We dance and lip sync.Its fun.My school does it every year, and the finale....The teacher get into costumes and do a song together!It Awesome, in Jan. or Feb. the 5th grade did it (I was in 4th) and they did a HSM song (We're all in this together) so they were Basketball players and cheerleaders. lol This year I get to do it I can't wait!
