This is one tip that I'm so surprised I've never seen anywhere on any Punch-Out walkthrough. In the first match with Don Flaminco, after he gets up from the left-right combo, hit him in the gut with lefts. You'll get a star with every hit, but don't stop. When Flaminco goes down, he wil not get up. This takes good timeing, but if you can do it, you will beat him in under a minute. This is something that has always worked for me.
