  • @Derekmanster - hey thanx Derek!

  • that guitar sounds awesome

  • sounds beautiful - wow 52 k plays ! I average about 100 plays per video ! LOL

  • @wariomt - y, I loved the original Beatles version but I think Joe Cocker's version is my fave...he added such soul, passion & drive...it sort of a personal anthem to true friendship for me...priceless! Thanx so much for your kind comment and for taking the time to post it...means alot!!!

  • epic tune and mood, mate! loved it!

  • hot playing

  • @cliffo1950 Why thank-you! I really appreciate you taking a minute to say so.

Thanx for saying hello and for your kind words of encouragement...It always makes my day when someone takes the time to post a kind comment. Thank-you! BTW, I enjoyed the tribute to your Mom and your version of Desparado; the latter is a particular favourite of mine! Wishing you success with your renewed commitment to musical pursuits....dJingo379

  • Wow... That was a great arrangement... love the feeling you put in your playing... very very creative....an excellent recording.... The BIAB sounded great backing you up too... great combination...

    Randy

  • well this software puts a new meaning to the one man band

and i love this song, very beautiful

  • @MYBIGKINDHEART: Hey Thanx David!! Glad you enjoyed it. BIAB is a great program to have in your toolbox! I really appreciate your positive feedback and taking the time to say 'Hello'!

  • @Djingo379 i've just got the band in a box 2011 but don't really understand how to use it properly, well not yet anyway, i've never used software like this before so it will be a bit of a challenge for me but maybe thats how we all get to learn something new

and i like your caught in the night song too, if i can say then i think you should do a few more in that sort of style

  • Wonderful. Thanks. I want to be able to use BIAB just like this.

  • @drglow Thanx for saying hello drglow...hope to see some of your BIAB videos up soon!

  • i don't know, i think too much embellishment.. The playing is good, just the interpretation of it, didn't float my boat.

  • @asmcriminaL Hey, thanx for checking it out...

  • @thgyleed...I'm envious as I still work with biab '07...there's no doubt you'll find it useful imho...btw, congrats on new grand-daughter...I think you have a great voice!!!

  • Hey! I'm so glad you are enjoying Band-in-a-Box. If you like, check out our official PGmusic channel for regular updates and cool tips and how-to's! Thanks

  • Gibson L5? nice and cool play . Thanks

  • @papyslapet1 Thanx for saying 'Bonjour' and 'Good Day' from Canada! It's actually a Korean made guitar by Samick..I really like it. Thanx for your kind encouragement!!

  • I am just waiting for my biab 2011 Audiophile edition...I can hardly wait...but just hope I will be able to figure it out....love your playing....I have done lots of parodies and want to start writing original songs....thinking this might help me get going....

  • mm....this was good sounding! nice feeling! keep on jamming....

  • @MrKeys57 Thanx Levi!! I'm just getting back to playing after having sustained finger injuries whilst playing 'Canada's Game' of hockey :( BTW, I've only listened to a couple of your vids but I really like what you're doin'!!

  • Band in a Box is fantastic on so many levels.

Nice playing by the way... and a beautiful guitar ass well. :)

Thank you for sharing your art!

  • @BoIivarDan: Hey Dan, Thanx for saying 'hello'...couldn't agree more about BIAB. I need to get updated to the latest version though, can't wait to try out the "Real Band" stuff too. Some of my other vids use the BIAB 'real drums' add-on which is a great improvement over the earlier versions...take care!

  • Wow! Just bought band in a box and check out your site. Very nice chord inversions and tone. Are you using BIAB for accompaniment? Sounds a little like Jaco on bass.

  • @jjfender08 Hey, Thanx for the Sub! Btw, you have good ears; I'm using the 'Jaco' style as the background for this piece...just punch in the chords to the tune and it plays it like Jaco would. Good Luck exploring BIAB, it can provide lots of fun and learning.

  • you crazy man nice man not a bad gitfidle thanks you made my day

  • @speck444 you gotta be crazy to sit around listenin to this...but I'm Glad you did! Better yet, you said "Hello"...all the best.

  • such beautiful tone these instruments make-but high volume can cause a headache from the feedback-ha! But at lowert volume these hollowbody guitars are wonderful

  • I LOVE HOLLOWBODIED GUITARS BUT always have problems with feedback. I guess at music store maybe I was too close to amp or something??? I know at high volumes they really have feedback troubles. Beautiful sound your making there though!

  • @micmoable ...yes, I think you are right. I always play at low volume so the feedback thing has never been a big issue. I've worked with an 18 piece Big Band using a 60w AER amp. I was able to use the amp as my own personal stage monitor while the XLR out at the back fed into the 'house' mix along with stage monitors for the rest of the band...worked just great...

  • HI..I'm looking at this band in a box also..I play standards bass..country and classic rock guitar and some vocals..thougnt it would be a good addition to my home studio.. What do you think?..you really like the band in box software?

  • @brofun I have no affiliation with the company but I have a great time with the Band In A Box program...I haven't even begun to explore their new Real Band stuff but I've heard some of the demos...quite impressive!!

  • very beautiful guitar tone and playing. What is the name of the guitar that you are playing?

  • ...hey Breck, thanx for checking me out and for your kind encouragement. I look forward to hearing your posts on MySpace. I am playing a Korean guitar made by Samick; they make fine pianos as well. The only modifications I've made are replacement of the bridge pick-up with a Seymour Duncan Jazz and changed tuning heads to Grovers. I use a very light touch so I run regular guage strings (10-46) rather than the typical Heavy guage most guys run on a big bodied guitar like that,

  • @Djingo379 - Absolutely! I, really, enjoy your playing (you are in my faves). I, did, check out the Samick line of guitars and I, just completely, am impressed with them, especially, the Greg Bennet guitars - beautiful jazz boxes. Is it not a great time to be playing guitar?! There are, just, so many great affordable choices out there, nowadays!

Thnx 4 checking out my website. I"m working on a new song, titled "The Sky at Night" at the moment. I should have something uploaded soon.

  • @Djingo379 How do you fell about the jazz pickup in bridge position ? I wanted to put one there also bunt could never find any reviews about that. Thanks

  • @iliecostin ...you know what? I just this very moment realized I may have been leading people astray. It is my neck pick-up, not my bridge pick-up that I have replaced with a Seymour Duncan Jazz. For my sound, I do not use the bridge pick-up at all!

  • @Djingo379 i thought you hat the jazz in both positions cause i have one in the neck and i love it but i cannot find a pickup for the bridge.

  • @iliecostin ...no, I have replaced only the neck pick-up with the Seymour Duncan Jazz; as I mentioned, I never have the bridge pick-up turned on. Mind you, I don't use a wide selection of tones, just louder and softer but the tone I don't mess with very much.

  • Nicely done.

  • Thanx vegas...a compliment from a fellow player is always nice to receive...Thank You!

  • Totally awesome playing. Great comping man.

Love your style. Wish I could play like that!

    Please post more......

    Thanks

  • ...really appreciate your taking time to say so. It means a lot.

  • 5 stars!

  • Hey kalixi...many thank-yous; can't wait to check out your stuff also...take care!

  • Sounds great! Good work !

  • Thanx becasso74, always love it when someone takes a moment to say something nice...luv your 'Abba reborn...' video!

  • Question: with BIAB is it possible to have chord changes syncopated over the bar line or do they have to fall on the beat?

Nice arrangement of With a little help- I think Wes Montgomery did some Beatles also

  • BIAB is very capable of any syncopation you can dream of...I rely on the myriad syncopated styles found in the progam itself, but one can also create one's own styles; it just gets more involved. Call up any style you like; then look at it in the notation window. You will see ties across bar lines are quite common. Hope that helps and Thank-you so much for checkin' this out.

  • wow this is great man! i use band in a box software just for practicing. great software by the way! and of course, great song!

    pirthamaax ghaan

  • Thanx malesmandi, BIAB is a nifty little program to be sure...thanx for checking this out!

  • Very smooth easy and nice. Good playing

Djingo. I just picked up Band in the Box and

would love to do arrangements similar to

what you doing. Are you using outside VST

sounds or Realtracks. What's your sound set

up in BITB. Thanks for posting, and post some

    more.

  • Hi Gilyslas, Thank-you for your kind encouragement. I very much appreciate it when folks take the time to say hello. I don't use VST add-ons or Realtrack at the moment tho I must say I'm looking forward to working with Realtracks soon. From what I've heard so far, they're pretty cool. I tend to select a set group of instruments in BIAB and then use that set-up for most everything. I add some chorus to the piano and just a touch to the bass. Hope that helps and good luck, BIAB is 'Good Fun'

  • From the start this tune has a mellow atmosphere.

  • Thanx for stopping by 50dog...yeah, I don't play with much of an 'edge'...just seem to prefer my music 'sooooooothing' :) Take care!

  • Hi nice one, Ive got the same samick what strings do you use? It sounds very bright. ive been useing flatwound 12's and I wonder about trying something different. One other thing I noticed you replied to an earlier comment that you used Biab tyle 'fusn_shuf'. ive got version 2008.5 and cant find that style on it do you know if its still on there.

  • Hi Trade4s. Thanx for stopping by! Becuz I have smaller hands I found typical flatwound strings to be unwieldy so I use regular guage 10 to 42 roundwounds. I've also added a 'jazz' Seymour Duncan neck pick-up. As for the fusn_shuf.sty, I'd check with tech-support at BIAB. I'm still using 2007 version but would be surprised if it had been discontinued. Take care!

  • I love the lirycs:"...Without a little help from my friends"

  • GOOD , WATH BRAND IS YOUR GUITAR?

  • Hi Azzzzuzu, It's a Korean made Samick. I've had it for about 15 years now so I'm not sure if they still make it. Thanx for stopping by my YouTube channel!

  • love your guitar

  • Thanx!

  • Just started with BIAB doing the same thing with drums I record the BB stuff into a 4 track Tascam Analog recorder then dub the drum trax

    Having a great time

    Very nice playing dude

  • Thanx so much, there's no question, Band In A Box has made me a better musician...highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get ahead.

  • Sweet. 'nuff said.

    jonr

  • Great playing and great sounding guitar. I was wondering. When you recorded this video did you then record the audio part directly into BIAB or did you make a recording of the backing track and then used it in another recording program such as pro tools or cubase?

  • Thanx 4 your kindness...this was my first video and I was using just sound from the camera but it didn't cut it so I re-recorded directly to my computer (I use a Sound Blaster Audigy II sound card with Creative software) and you can see it's slightly out of sync with the music. Now I simultaneously run my camera while recording direct to computer, save it as a .wav file (mess with it in a wave editor)then convert to mp3 and sync.every thing in Windows Movie Maker. Hope this helps. Take care!

  • Thx. So you record the video onto tape or whatever equipment your dv has, and then you simultaneously record the audio, ok get it. This is how I do it myself. That is capture the video part afterwards, and sometimes simultaneously. But when you are recording directly to computer as you say are you then using BIAB to record the audio bit (guitar). Or did I misunderstand you. Sorry if I drag this out. (habuji is my son's account)

  • love the sound of the hollowbodys great job

  • thanx so much for stopping by HAmmer32261...appreciate that!

  • your playing is impressively clean, great job! :)

  • thank-you for your kindness!

  • Would you mind stating what style you are using in "Band in a Box"

  • Hi onesorryass, it's 'fusn_shuf'. It was recorded before BIAB had 'real drums' w/lots of chorus on the fretless bass.

  • Thank you, all the years I've had BIAB (about 15)I still haven't tried all the styles. Very nice playing.

  • awesome playing, keep it up

check out our video if you can - steady as she goes new year in the search box (our guitarist keeps getting off time)

  • Thanx quicksilva...haven't been able to locate your vid yet. Perhaps you can send me a link via the 'send message' button. Take care!

  • Hi jt33467; thanx so much for your comment! I will send a message where I can give you a bit more detail on how I used Band In a Box. Good Luck with your studio.

  • Fantastic, this is great.

  • That's a nice guitar. What model is it? Are the pickups originals or you have them changed?

  • Julesforet, I am playing a Samick guitar. I don't know the model; I've had it for about 14 yrs. I only use one pick-up and that's the seymour duncan jazz bridge pick-up that replaced the original. Thank-you so much for your encouragement and kindness in your comments and thanx for subscribing...hope to have some new things posted soon.

  • I like it too. I like this song

  • ...thanx paradizze, I can play it much better of course, but I think you hear the possibilities with this version. L
