This song was my childhood. and still is. lol. But as for recommendations about your singing, try to sound a little more "motherly" (use your diaphragm more). But other than that, you're really good! <3
I'm a big fan of Dick Van Dyke & thought this was by Him , and almost clicked off when i realized it wasn't. I was pleasantly surprised and think you did a wonderful job with it. You have great control & can vibrate your voice thru hard and soft tones , which not many people , even in todays world , can. I was impressed & hope the best for you... ^-^
This is a beautiful song and you have a beautiful voice. Visually the moon image as a backdrop is really effective... I'd have liked to have seen the whole of your head in shot. Also perhaps if you really went into the meaning of the song a bit more - really feeling it as if you're actually singing it to a child - maybe even singing it straight into the camera...and continuing to feel the emotion during the instrumental sectioon - the camera will pick that up. But it's a great cover.
@Merlina2001 - Thank you very much for your comment and for the advice. I always look for ways to improve. I understand what you are saying - I was probably concentrating too much on getting the timing right as the instrumental is very slow. Thanks for stopping by.
Why are you holding back? I work in a recording studio and its my job to hear the strength in someone's voice and bring it out. I can hear that you have power there, but you're obviously holding back. My question is why? A slight change in key might bring it out. Hopefully we'll be seeing you soon when we book you a session. Good luck, all the best... x
@Mouzle - Thanks for your comment. There are various reasons why I am probably "holding back" - 1. singing in a car, 2. I never had singing lessons. You could be right about the change in key as there are some songs I can belt out. Although, this song was meant to be sung softly. So, is that an invitation then? ;)
@Manniara Sorry it's a while. A car... lol... That's new one. If you're working from home have try the bathroom? It has nice acoustics for you or try a simple guitar echo peddle. A garage can have a great acoustic sound. Bit cold in this weather tho. I understand it's soft song, but there is power there so I would love to hear you belt a song out... As for an invitation, I'm afraid I'm not that far up the ladder as yet. But I'll in box a link you might like.
@Mouzle - Thank you very much for your adivce. I have tried the bathroom before but I do like singing in a car. I do like to sing belt out songs but don't know that many. Thanks for the link :)
if you lay down and sing it you will be able to breathe properly. your chest is rising too much which means you are using your lungs and not your diaphram to push the air out. you have a beautiful voice. :)
Heard this tune for the first time on an advert in the U.K. I googled the words 'a gentle breeze from hush a bye mountain' and your video came up. I'm SO impressed. You have a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L voice. Keep it up.
@pennyeshua - Aww, thanks a lot for your nice comment. Ha ha, I know exactly which advert you're talking about - it's Dreams, they just started using the song. Thanks again for watching! :D
All I have to say is...wow lol I was gobsmacked when I heard this version so what if people can hear you breathe you can hear most professionals breathe in between singing. I guess people are just fussy on jere
@Boo7er666 - I really appreaciate your lovely comment and I am glad you liked my version. Yes, it seems some people didn't "get" it. I thought because it is lullaby I wanted to sing it softly. People do seem to be fussy on here!
@Celticwomanfanpiano - Thank you!!!! Yes, he is awesome. The clip is not really well done in my opinion - it could be better. I am still trying to improve my video editing skills.
@ilsebil1994 - Thank you so much Ilse. I'm really happy you liked it. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. I'm a sucker for sad, melanchonic songs :)
Ooo LOVED this cover... i love the lullaby softness that you have.. you tell so many stories with your voice...its wonderful! I have never heard this song before but its hauntingly beautiful! Def thumbs up

My only criticism is that your breathing was a little to loud and distracted from your singing.
