In previous centuries, children grew up faster because of shorter life expectancies, added responcibility due to lack of technology, ect. and were more mentaly equiped to marriage and sexual interaction earlier in life. Now, however, children mature at a slower rate and are not ready for sex at 12, 13, 14 even 15 or 16 depending on the child.
I think that all this talk of Pedophilia being a natural and previously accepted fact is sick. It has nothing to do with the biological age of the victim, rather the mental state and maturity.
I think anyone who would have sex with a girl who is 17 yrs old and 364 days is sick but someone who has sex with a girl who is 18 yrs old and 2 days is okay...

Agreed - that it is primarily a religious fervor that has lead to litigating nature, but do not underestimate the threat that typical, aging (voting) women feel regarding their failing beauty when observing gorgeous, young, shapely, promiscuous teens. I've learned that this plays a large part on their psyche through conversations with honest middle-aged women.
