Are you serious! fish can smell/sense foreign objects like smoke from cigarettes, sweat, cologne, craw fish oils, shad oils so on and so on. to use rubbing alcohol on your rod then tie on lures and what not, your setting your self up for failure TRUST!!
i clean my cork with warm to hot water with bleach and a toothbrush to scrub it clean let it dry looks good as new and the cork gets its grip back and on really dirty handles just repeat the process tight lines
Nice video and tip. I made the same video in the summer of me showing how to clean the cork using the same stuff. I never posted it.. I been slacking hard its been cold and snowing here in mass
@TeamRippnLipz1 Thanks Sonny, I figured you were all snowed in lol! We have snow too, but I actually got out last week and ended up catching a 17" brown trout on my new Curado/Crucial setup. I look forward to more of your videos bro!
@BassinNW 17" bT Nice! Works been crazy lately i wouldn't have time to fish even if i wanted... Thanks i will make more vids for spring and summer... Yea the snow here is a super big buzz kill, I do love snow for the holidays but for works its bad NEWS lol
@TeamRippnLipz1 I used to love the snow back when I was into snowboarding, but now that I would rather fish, I want more spring and summer haha. Take care man, and don't work too hard!
i shave the shape of my cork handles also if i dont like the feel of a handle :) good video dude, keep up the info gathering process on spots and the lake before shasta this january and you should be in good shape!!
@colbybassmaster Interesting Colby, I have never actually seen anyone shave a handle. You should do a video if you ever get the chance, that would be cool to see and helpful to a lot of people!
@BassinNW ya i will some time its easy to do just if you have a handle that just bugs you and dont like the shape why not change it some, i originally heard it happening with swimbait rods with long handles that go under your arm
@colbybassmaster Makes sense, I think that's why we are now seeing adjustable ends and all sorts of thinner diameter shapes. Shaving the cork is a great idea though for someone not wanting to buy another rod.
@FreshwaterAngling I have quite a few, but mainly use my citica and curado for baitcasting. A few older spinning reels, and adding a swimbait reel/rod by January.
thanks a lot bud!...gunna go downstairs right now and clean my bad boys up..."if your married you wanna use the nicest rag in the house" LMAO!...nice tree by the way...merry x-mas

@yourneck2 Haha, ok. What about bearing grease on your reel, and the plastic used to make lures? Or the smell and taste of metal?
I've done it for years, so tell that to the hundreds of fish that I've caught and released.
Trust.

@Pfluegerfishingguy Should make them look new Pflueger! I love my Citica...The Curado is much smoother, but the Citica's price is hard to beat.
